I really like they are given more tool to mono-colored decks.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
that's pretty decent. i don't think its necessarily what voltron strategies currently need to be successful in the format, but its pretty decent.
havent had much trouble protecting voltron generals once they're equipped, or even getting them through. the real issue is in that small window in response to the equip, and board wipes.
This is a stealth boost to monowhite commanders, since the only protection you lose that way is the one most don't play and you get the most equipment matters stuff.
So colorless commanders basically become Progenitus
Of course it's undercosted because it's a mythic and we have to sell those packs

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
EDIT: As FunkyDragon and others pointed out, this scales based on your commander's colors and protection from a color is different from hexproof. So, it's not an upgrade from Champion's Helm. It's a different card entirely with its own usage scenarios.
Disagree. If you are in the color of their removal, it does nothing. If you are running a 4-5 color deck, it does nothing. In mono-colored, it can be great, but you still don't get actual hexproof if you share colors with your opponents. the other aspects of protection can be great (unblockable, etc), but it is very dependent on what colors your opponents play.

I am mistaken in my analysis. You bring up good points.
A large and unimpressed 'meh' for this one. Not the worst equipment in the world, but very much not actually good.
Are you kidding me? It only costs 1 then 3 (or 5) to equip. Of course, it loses it's effectiveness with multicolored generals, but still, most decks are 2-3 colors so it will always protect from 2-3 colors at the least! The +3/+3 bonus is just gravy....
Going straight into my Urza, Lord High Artificer deck.
It's hard to justify cards that don't generate value in commander. This will likely never be better than a protection sword, and probably worse than Shadowspear or Skullclamp for 1 mana equipment slots.

No? The protections are not the important part of swords. The triggers are. Maybe mono-white is desperate enough for this I guess, but I can't think of a good reason for anyone else to bother.

I can think of a whole lot of reasons Traxios and your Eldrazi Legends may want to also be progenitus. This card represents a pretty huge boost for colorless commanders who are already at a huge disadvantage, and along with some of the other goodies in this set like Lotus and War room you may actually see viable colorless decks in the future.
I'll concede that colorless decks on a budget may get some use out of it, that's a good point. Would still absolutely run every sword first given the option.
Champion's Helm is far and away superior. Solid Hexproof and +2/+2. Paying one time 3 mana and only 1 to equip is better than paying a low upfront cost and 3 to equip each time. 3 and 1 are good mana costs for tutoring in artifacts, but Helm is the best of these.

And requires a reprint.
I dislike this logic a lot. It is a singleton format. Just because you already have the best thing in your list does not mean you don't also want the next best thing that is also very good. Fewer colors you use the more powerful this effect becomes and the less likely you are to be able to find either one of them in your deck because you don't have the options to go fish them out.
Not sure what people are complaining about here. to me, this reads '4 mana, Omnath Locus of Mana is not getting spot removed and is super hard to block, go nuts'

Are people complaining or merely pointing out its just okay?
Theres a big difference in that and one shouldnt be labeled as the other
