What a bunch of stinkeroo planeswalker reprints. Couldn't we have gotten, like, one of Ajani's cards, or a Garruk that wasn't just reprinted in C19, or a black planeswalker that doesn't suck?
It should have been Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath, at least that has life gain which would fit better with the life gain theme of the deck and would have been a decent reprint.

is two years ago “just reprinted” now?
When something is worthless and better equally worthless options exist... well yeah
I get the idea is to improve the deck yourself and to find neat synergistic cards, but at a certain point its just lazy. Why put thought or creativity into it if its going to sell regardless.
Its a well done precon, way more where these things should be headed, but it couldve been better with just a hair more effort in terms of reprints

So first it was a frequency complaint, now it’s a power complaint. Do you even know what you’re complaining about or are you *****ing just to *****?

for reprints, the two go hand in hand. For Mana Crypt, a powerful card with tons of demand, a reprint every 2 years like clockwork would be nice. There will never be more Mana Crypts than demand for them, not as long as EDH exists. for Sol Ring, it's cheap, but if EDH keeps growing at this rate, if they stopped printing it for two years there might be a small demand problem, because it's such a powerful card. If a card has plenty of demand, 2 years is a lot longer than for a card with no demand. If that Garruk was not printed again for another 5 years, it would still be a $2-3 card.
Time has always been relative, and any Magic player knows the relationship between power/demand/reprint need

This guy gets it.
Its always going to be both.
Also reprinting cheap things repeatedly that synergize with a precon is always going to be better than reprinting cheap things that dont.
Look at high market, worthless now, a billion reprints, there are other options that wouldve been nice to see BUT it synergizes so well here not seeing it wouldve been a mistake
What does ob do here that several other cheapo walkers couldnt do better within the deck? If we're not reprinting things that need it, why not at least be fun with it?
Its a well done deck, with good cards, no one is really disputing that.
A minor critique is not an indictment of an entire product. most of more vocal members here lately seem to forget that.
As a community we should be discussing things, good and bad, mundane and spectacular. We all love the game. Instead, some choose to seize on such a minor thing like rabid dogs, escalating nonissues, and hurling insults. Its toxic.
Wait, anyone else noticed that Tivash, Gloom Summoner looks a lot like Liliana's Raven man? Same hair, goatee, color pattern, even the raven-feather cloak. It's a major (although not main) story character, and could explain why Liliana is here in the first place! And yet they chose to hide him in a commander precon... Am i reading too much into this? Would they leave this here as a hint?
I always thought ravenman was white skinned, this guy is black. Or am I misremembering?
Edit:nope I'm wrong, the art of this guy matches ravenman perfectly. This is clearly him

Glad someone said something about the elephant in the room.
This is the most recent image of the Raven Man.
Tivash looks similar, but I think it's more a coincidence. (Green eyes on Tivash, different style of cloak, a bit more lithe and youthful than the Raven Man), Liliana is on the plane to look for a way to revive Gideon, as mentioned in the first story.
"My session with Maraff is done. Is Professor Tivash in?"
"Intercollegiate meeting," Lisette said. "Why he insists on attending those is beyond me."
Valentin twirled on his heel, returned to the crucible, and grunted after looking into it again. He glanced over to Dina but didn't address her. "Tivash likes the refreshments, Lisette. Lime cakes, elderberry pies."
"I'm sure Gyome can arrange to make anything he wants in the kitchen."
"Yes, but you see, Tivash adores being doted on," Valentin explained. "These treats are waiting there for him, as if by the grace of a benevolent universe. Small things quiet small minds."
If they're setting up a Raven Man reveal, this seems like a weird way to do it.
Matt tabak confirmed yedora, Grave Gardener synergies with morph cards (which is code for you can pay the morph cost if a creature with morph dies with yedora in play.)
EDIT: Oh, and now mention of Witch's Clinic yet? I mean, it's not a total staple, decks with non-combat utility commanders would likely rather have a colored-mana-producing land, but for anything with a beefier commander that wades into battle, this is a pretty good choice. Especially if you have a bunch of "lifegain matters" cards.

It's obviously good, but super boring. Also there is zero tie in between art flavour and ability. Has nothing to do with a witch house. Reminds me of sheoldred flavour vs function total fail.

The Clinic can also potentially be a politics kind of card since you can do it to other player's commanders. It depends on the deck that wants it really.

I know that’s a staple and to prove this Let me just leave these two guy's here
Also, is Gyome, Master Chef supposed to be pronounced the same as the French name Guillaume?
I strongly suspect so, yes. Guillaume shares an etymological origin with Guillermo / William / etc., which means "will protect / defend." Very appropriate for a chef who has the potential to protect your entire board using foodstuffs. Phonologically speaking, it's also very likely a deliberate reference to (or conflation of) several popular French chef's names: Bourdain, Gordon, and Prudhomme all spring immediately to mind.

Thanks. I do wish the second "language" everyone learns in school was the international phonetic alphabet, and that every magic card would at least have a gatherer entry written in that. Like, I still don't know whether Licia, Sanguine Tribune is pronounced like Alicia without the A, or like Lucia but with an i instead of the u.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.

so it could become a exspensive card because of Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer because yedora could play the role of Mikaeus, the Unhallowed for creatures with morph
Even Yedora, Grave Gardener is incapable of breaking Break Open. Ixidor, Reality Sculptor is rather expensive to create a sudden army. Which reminds me they did not reprint Training Grounds which would have fit perfectly into this set...
