But if you turn 4 Biomancer turn 5 Fathom Mage, you could also have just done turn 4 Huntmaster (evolve your side) turn 5 Thragtusk/Silverheart/Hellkite.
Quote from damagecaseI honestly don't know what WOTC is trying to do. Pretty much everything is spoiled that would be of high value and very little looks even remotely good. I mean sure Biomancer is good if you could drop him two turns sooner. As it is, he is pumping 5 + drops which is pointless because any creature that needs pumping for 5 plus mana isn't worth playing as combo pieces. I guess if you want to make a habit of playing outside the curve... This guy and the Seer both have such a backward mentality for design. I honestly think both of these guys were originally designed at 2 mana and R&D tacked on the additional 2 grey so the kiddies wouldn't hurt themselves...lol.
Quote from BishopOdarknessthis guy is screaming mana ramp king...gyre sage+giant growth+master biomancer(maybe even + wild defiance)= turn 5-6 max out mana for standard
this is also sweet with clone & deadeye navigator
Quote from damagecaseK theres 12 to 16 slots filled with combo pieces that won't win the game. What're you gonna put in the final 20 slots? It better be good.
Quote from JhonoStrictly worse than Bloodbraid Elf...
Quote from ChallengeFatewith coat of arms, awesome. i play elvish promenade for five elf tokens, with him in play (and four other elves in play). any math people wanna help? i have a headache..
Quote from MummyHmmm, I feel my understanding of the rules might be off but if the stack goes:
Coat of Arms pumps the token
MB further pumps the token
MB + 1st ET = MB (3/5) and 1st ET (4/4)
MB + 2nd ET = MB (4/6), 1st ET (5/5), 2nd ET (6/6)
MB + 3rd ET = MB (5/7), 1st ET (6/6), 2nd ET (7/7), 3rd ET (9/9)
MB + 4th ET = MB (6/8), 1st ET (7/7), 2nd ET (8/8), 3rd ET (10/10), 4th ET (11/11)
MB + 5th ET = MB (7/8), 1st ET (8/8), 2nd ET (9/9), 3rd ET (11/11), 4th ET (12/12), 5th ET (13/13)
MB = Master Biomancer
ET = Elf Token
I humbly apologize if my rules understanding and/or math calculations are off.
Quote from odin1234So this + Kitchen Finks or Murderous Redcap + sac engine = GG. Seems good as one of in Pod decks
The Internet was a revelation to me, I never imagined there are so many idiots on this planet.

What the...? Seriously, you should learn more about magic terminology before stating such nonsese.
Except by the CMC and the Elf creature type. There's absolutely nothing related to them, they're on different colors, have totally different effects and applications.
Ok, if it was going to see play it would have costed 2. At 4 mana what it does is going to be to little to late under most circumstances.
Except BBE either wins you the game or is "just" a 2 for 1 (which couldn't be printed in this set because a 2 for 1 is just too powerful...)
This guy waits for you to play a creature.
