Auntie's Snitch can't block.
Prowl :1mana::symb:
Whenever a Goblin or Rogue you control deals combat damage to a player, if Auntie's Snitch is in your graveyard, you may return Auntie's Snitch to your hand.
3/1
If Someone attacks with Auntie's Snitch, puts damage on the stack towards a player, and then sacrifices the snitch to something and no other goblins or rogues are going to deal damage, would the ability trigger and return the snitch to your hand? Basically, does the game remember that the damage was being dealt by a goblin/rogue?
This same sort of question was asked with archers dealing damage dying, and still triggering Doyan.
In short, yes. The game uses Last Known Information in the case where a permanent has left play before its damage resolves. The only way the ability won't trigger is if this is killed by something that also removes its creature types (like Nameless Inversion) with damage on the stack.

This is actually a different situation than the question with Greatbow Doyen. With the archer, it dies from combat damage, which means its ability triggers before it dies. In this case, the OP assigns combat damage then sacrifices it (to a Greater Gargadon, for example), and wonders if the ability will trigger even though there is no actual Goblin or Rogue in play to actually deal the damage.
But you are right, the game uses LKI to see that it was a Goblin/Rogue that assigned/dealt the damage.

So if I got this right, with a Greater Gargadon suspended, you can attack with the Snitch, sacrifice to the Gargadon, return it to your hand, and THEN play it for it's Prowl cost? This is rediculous if true.

Thank you in advance.
