i was just making sure that if i have a magus of the moon in play, the nonbasic lands that now become mountains can only tap for Red Mana.
and if my opponant has a Urborg Tomb of Yawgmoth in play, and i then play the Magus after, would all their land then be mountains, even the basic swamps they control?

A train leaves boston at 9:00 am traveling west at 63.5 mph...
... If you can determine, without the use of a calculator, what approximate longitude and lattitude the 2 trains will meet at in the midwest put a 1/1 Freaking Genius token into play under your control."
How hard do we have to work now a days for a little value in this game? ;p
The basic swamps would not become mountains. However, Urborg would become a mountain and no longer make other lands swamps. Yes, the nonbasic lands can only tap for red mana, and, interestingly enough, they are still nonbasic, even though they are mountains.
This is eally a question of time stamps in the big picture.
If Urborg was on the field and then Magus came into play, then all nonbasic land become mountains, even Urborg its self. This does not mean all your opponets basic swamps become mountain because they still retain their text of "basic" on their type line.
If the Magus is on the field and then an Urborg is played, then all nonbasic lands become swamps and mountains. This is what happens: Magus makes all nonbasics turn into mountain--keep in mind that they still retain the "nonbasic" typeline-- and then Urborg comes into play and all nonbasics become, as it says on the card, swamps in addittion to their other types.

What? That doesnt make any sense. Magus makes all non-basic lands mountains. Urborg comes into play and it is a mountain and no longer has the ability to make other lands swamps.
