Hi guys, I know that it is still unconfirmed as to whether Reflecting pool is gonna be reprinted, but just like to find out if it would be legal for me to use the tempest version of the card for Shadowmoor block tournaments should it be reprinted? Thanks!

Yup. If a card is legal in a format, any version of it from previous sets or editions is legal.

Yes. You can use a past version of a card they are all legal just make sure it's not worn as to be marked. Or use sleeves.
From Saturday School #51 by Rune Horvik, Saturday, November 8, 2003:Q: Can I enter a tournament of a new format and use a card like Story Circle that I have an older version of, but the older version is a different rarity? A: This is allowed. Tournaments don't look at the rarity of a card, only the name. All cards with the same name are the same, even though they have different artworks or are from different expansions. You can use your Story Circle from Mercadian Masques in today's Standard format tournaments because it has been reprinted in Eighth Edition, even though Mercadian Masques is no longer in the format.
which is why the cheese stands alone did not make it into 8th.

The Cheese Stands Alone is also functionally different from Barren Victory because cheese triggers at any time the condition is met and Barren Victory only checks during your upkeep. It's a LOT easier to meet the cheese's condition.

I have a different question about Reflecting Pool:
When I have an Island, Reflecting Pool and Vivid Creek WITHOUT any counters on it in play, will Reflecting Pool produce any colour or only U?
What about Gemstone Caverns?
And furthermore, what if you are playing with an elemental deck, and have Primal Beyond (taps for any color mana for elemental spells)?
Reflecting Pool sees that the above lands (Vivid lands, Primal Beyond, Gemstone Caverns, etc.) are capable of producing any color of mana. It doesn't care that you are unable to pay the costs/activate the abilities of these lands to generate said mana; only that a land you control can produce any color of mana. Armed with such short-sighted information, it will allow you to tap it for any color of mana.
I have no problems with cursing. I always feel like the sort of people who buy that cliche are the same ones who think that every bully is secretly insecure. Life isn't as simple as our kindergarten teachers taught us.

Yup, those restrictions are specific to those cards only; Reflecting Pool doesn't give a toss, just as long as they are in some way capable of producing that colour, it can too. It makes the Abandoned Outpost cycle almost playable. Almost.

I think it means that if you played a land and you have River of Tears... then Reflecting Pool can only tap for the that River of Tears normally produces, while the RoT is tapping for :symb:.
I think.

Just to clear this up - it's a joke. It means that Reflecting Pool does not care about potential futures, such as "Turn one, Pool, and since I'll play a Gemstone Mine turn two, I can tap for any color right now!" or "Tap Pool for blue" "I'll Stone Rain your Island next turn so you can't produce U!"

Yes sir. I'd also like to say that these words quoted above me, have been mentioned VERBATIM in my organic sciences class.
