During SCG Commentary I heard them talking about Far//Away as a full answer to Thragtusk. Since then I've read here that using fuse makes the card resolve all as one spell, so I'm assuming you couldn't actually use this to deal with both halves of a Thragtusk. Is this correct?
I don't know what the official ruling is going to be for Fuse, but IIRC you have to declare all of your targets on casting the spell, so it wouldn't work anyway if you wanted to have the guy sac Thragtusk and then return the beast token.
No, the commentators weren't correct, for 2 reasons:
1) When you cast both sides of a Fuse card, you have to do the Left side first, then the Right side.
2) Though Thragtusk will trigger when he's bounced, that trigger can't resolve before Far//Away is completely finished resolving. The player will sacrifice a creature before the Beast token enters the battlefield.
You target thragtusk with Far, then once that resolves thragtusk makes a token on top, that resolves, then they're forced to sacrifice a creature. It's a full-answer in a bounce spell, not a removal spell, unfortunately.

Are you sure that it works this way and not two separate spells?
How about "You may discard your hand, pay 5 life, rip this card, remove 3 digits from any number of target fingers you control, and concede at the end of the next end step rather than pay It Will Go Through!!'s mana cost.

Pacifism is the only answer
Far//Away is still gonna be "pretty cool". For 5 mana, you get to bounce an attacking Smiter and make them sac Sigarda? Legit. Bounce your guy being Speared, make them sac a threat? also good. Unsummon for 1 more? Not bad. Edict for 1 more? Not bad....

they got the wrong split card... they would have been right if they said "Turn//Burn"

Fair enough. It won't do much to stop thragtusk, then.

Not sure how well that would work out.
Errr....................reread Sigarda

Right, because Sigarda has flying, hexproof, and no other text.
