Time Spiral Block saw the return of every named mechanic they were willing to reprint at the time. There's a reason Maro said "not counting Time Spiral" rather than "not counting time shifted cards".
Looking at the quote from the first post, it is actually "ignoring Future Sight" and neither of what you suggest, or am I missing something?
No, no you are not. And he (MaRo) was specifically referring to future-shifted cards when answering the question.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
So with the newly spoiled cards, with one having the 'untap lands' pseudo-mechanic, could that be the winner? Much powered down of course, but still...

I could see a toned down version of that mechanic reappearing.

Wouldn't Mardu Warshrieker be said to have a discount mechanic as well? Maybe they could be distinguished as "land discount" and "mana discount"?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Stuff like untap lands and sac: draw a card are used all the time. Rewind even appeared in a few core sets, so it's not like they're worried about the mechanic entirely.
provoke-like abilities are still used without using the keyword.
One mechanic that hasn't been mentioned and oft-forgotten is exploiting the top (creature) card of the graveyard. Weatherlight was the only set to feature this mechanic, and the last set to care about that was Stronghold.

That terrible mechanic has been dead for almost twenty years, I really hope they'll keep it 6 foot under.
Yeah, the ability to pick up and reorder your graveyard is pretty useful, I've seen lots of players separate their yard into creature/non creature piles for reanimator or card type piles for easy goyf counting, and I'm sure that delirium will encourage more of the same.

...but you can't call that the "free mechanic" anymore, maybe "discount mechanic"
Verily.
