So... some of you may remember the product survey from a while ago when wizards asked (among other things) how we would feel about a product that is legal in modern and not in standard (AKA Modern Horizons).
Those of you with good memories, may also remember that the survey asked how we would feel about a cooperative play experience that pits multiple players against a deck that plays itself a la Horde Magic (not a direct quote, obviously).
Since that survey, Modern Horizons was revealed and War of the Spark notably invented "The Dreadhorde" across three colors, made a number of low-rarity creatures that give zombie tokens every keyword under the sun, and created the amass mechanic (which allows for normal semi-vanilla creatures to promote a "go wide" zombie strategy... and allows more varied spell effects to be tied to zombies... and gives us a gigantic zombie token).
While this is just speculation, it seems like a great opportunity for Wizards to finally produce a flavorful Horde Magic product. Heck, this might help explain why Bolas' forces don't get a PW deck with WAR.
So... am I just crazy or is it possible that I'm onto something?
That would be cool, but don’t know if they had that idea. Like in Eldrish moon and amonkhet, I just use tokens of the collection if I want to make a horde deck to play.
In war you could use the horde zombie army tokens and make a rule like : the first enters with 1 +1/1 counter, the seccond with 2, etc. I would prob make also a rule that if the 1/1 army token is killed then the next to enter needs to be 1/1 to fill the gap.

Well, even if they don't make the product, the idea is now out there for anyone to ut together a Dreadhorde decklist. A drawback to such a supplemental product would be that they automatically would put in a lot of the new cards that they'd rather have players buy separately to build their deck. The Theros challenge decks were already a foray into Horde decks (though a Minotaur horde back then among those) and they didn't use normal creatures and spells for those decks.
I want to see it just to find out whether they again go the route of specialized cards or choose a normal deck playing itself by special rules. And it seems certainly a possibility as a follow-up to Archenemy: Nicol Bolas. Good speculation!

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
I think it would be good if they do that. But some cards like Planeswalkers are senseless against the challenge decks. Maybe they could make decks so even Planeswalker would have a sense. Or maybe a PVE without creatures. Are there links or decklists to this Horde topic?

Something like they did with Theros
Phyrexian Invastion that involved Elesh Norm or the classic Yagmoth or Mishra.
Bolas invasion in war of sparks.
Eldrazi Invasion with zendikar and another one for inistrad.
Classic tribal variants also other than zombies would be interesting like goblins, soldiers, merfolks and elves.

Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."
