I'm a big fan of snow. I started with Ice Age, so I have a huge rush of nostalgia for anything snow related. My biggest wants from Kaldheim are
1. More snow cards to make it a more viable archetype for cube and Jumpstart-style limited.
2. Full art snow lands in a more "traditional" fantasy style. I didn't like how over the top "magical" the ones in Modern Horizons were. Something more akin to the Eldraine Secret Lair.
BUT, is anyone worried that snow + Scandinavian-inspiration steps on the toes of Ice Age? I mean, look at Hans, some people assumed he was a preview from Kaldheim.
I agree with everything you said. I really love Snow, and want more Snow cards - I'd love the gods to be Legendary Snow Creatures. And to be able to build a full Snow Commander deck even.
I loved the Coldsnap snow lands. They're my favorite. Agreed that Modern Horizons didn't capture the feel I would have liked from Snow lands. The Island looked like a floating popsicle. Eldraine SL was gorgeous.
I hope they play up the ice geometry, cryomancer magic, snowy landscapes, etc. in this set. But don't make it a dreary world. Arctic sunshine, bright blue skies contrasting with cold white landscapes are beautiful. The arctic is usually features crystal clear skies due to high pressure systems, but remains frozen in Spring, for example. The white and blue are amazing color combinations. Not gray stormy skies all the time. Also, I see the aurora borealis will be adding a nice cosmic/magical touch to the setting. Love it already.
I'd love some Snow Angels. And a snow Kraken or two!

Snow is a theme that is in drastic need of support. It touches the WOW! COOL! factor of the newer players and hits a chord for those who started the game at the time of Ice Age. Coldsnap was a nice addition but didn't go nearly far enough.
FA Snow Lands I believe were a hit in MH1 so this is a GREAT time to do them again. If they didn't I think people would willingly tap their lands to feel mana burn.
Not worried about it being portrayed or confused with Ice Age. Yes Ice Age had a heavy Scandinavian flavour but this time it will be more focused and hopefully differentiated. There's more "myth" attached to it than what Ice Age had. Ice Age created the snow pack. It's time for fresh stuff to fall on top.

P.S: I don't care what you say, but I still see Homelands as part of Ice Age block

Ice Age was defianlty more genetic/MtG fantasy of a snow/ice world (which used some Norse stuff) and I think Kaldheim will be more Norse world which will likely elements of snow world but likely have more going on as well.

Have these been debunked as fake?
