I think that I was an 1820 Constructed player and a 1620 Limited player under the old Elo rating system. That still sounds about right, but my Constructed rating might be a bit closer to 1840, if I were to guesstimate. Limited is even more expensive than Standard in the long haul, and I can't afford even that much, so...
I probably won't be able to get any Modern Masters, but I'm still focusing on picking up the second half the 40 Legacy duals I am attempting to acquire (I'm at 22 right now.).
I stopped focusing on duals and more just on what decks I want to play. It usually requires some sort of duals eventually..:-/
I'm trying to pick up 40 duals, then 40 fetches, and finally 40 shocklands, though the latter will be far cheaper than the first two. Right now, I have 22 duals, 29 fetches, and 14 shocks. I'm hoping to finish my duals by the end of the year from judging credit, and then the shocks and fetches shouldn't be nearly as expensive to acquire.
Once I have most of my staples for Legacy, I'll probably get back into Standard once more. Hopefully by then I'll be out of college and will be able to afford it.

I hope you got all of the non-U duals. I feel that with the intro of Modern Masters, people will try to break into legacy and non-U decks are not that bad at the moment.
I am honestly just wanting to play outside of my kitchen table group. They are good players, but I just have no experience playing against other decks, so I am just stale against new things. Plus is HATE, HATE, HATE EDH. Scratch that, I loath it, but I play it because my brother prefers it.

I could finish duals.. but honestly, in legacy, most "playsets" are in 3's anyways. Fetches like arid mesa and wooded foothills aren't seeing too much play either.
I currently only have the following:
3x Tundra
4x Tropical Island
2x Volcanic Island
1x Bayou
1x Savannah
1x Taiga
Small, but enough to build quite a few decks with just a few more duals.
Sadly, my money sink is pimping out my lands deck.. I could easily have 8-10 more duals if I didn't try it, but I've ALWAYS wanted a really cool deck like that, ever since I started playing competitive legacy.
Cards I caught as legit: Legion's Initiative (my prediction: $7, price now: $6.71), only in Block. I think it's going to drop now, because it's only good in Block and the PT is over. Blood Baron of Vizkopa (my prediction: $8, price now: $9.52) Savageborn Hydra (my prediction: $4, price now: $4.24). Tip: All mythic Hydras end up at $4. Trust me.
Cards I missed: AEtherling (my prediction: $0.50, price now: $5), only in Block Deadbridge Chant (my prediction: $1, price now: $5.65) Progenitor Mimic (my prediction: $1, price now: $7.58), only in casual Sire of Insanity (my prediction: $0.50, price now: $3.58) Voice of Resurgence (my prediction: $17, price now: $39.97)
(Everyone knew Voice was going to be good. However, the maximum I'm willing to pay for it is $20, so I pegged it at $17. In hindsight, there are many other people with bigger budgets than me.)
Anyone else willing to do a post-mortem on his/her predictions?

3 U. Seas
3 Tundras
4 V. Islands
2 T. Islands
2 Bayous
2 Savannahs
3 Scrublands
3 Badlands
So, it's a mix of U and non-U ones...
I don't like EDH because multiplayer seems to drag on forever and a day, and I don't like the politics of it all. 1v1 EDH is fine, but not with the official banlist. I'd be willing to try it with the French rules though.
EDIT:
Regarding my predictions, this one pops up to humiliate me:
What is the Merchant's Guild? I think I may have heard of it once before, but it sounds like the sort of thing that existed before my time on this site. :/

A small clan of trading/selling aficionados. We talked market stuff mostly and our mascot was Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer (although Cheap Ass was a close second :p)
So I'm going to try to attempt (I'm terrible with art) to draw a playmat.
I want it to be somewhat 42 lands related since It's my favorite deck. Any ideas? I've been wanting something to do with Life from the Loam, but that artwork is just..
Maybe I'll just draw some female jace to distract my opponents.
EDIT: Maybe the golden gate bridge + guru sun..? Bay area legacy ftw?

Yeah, about that whole "before my time thing":
I joined this site on July 22 of last year. The Merchants' Guild shut down two days later. :/

If you're going to play 42 lands (I thought the stock list was 37 now, but ), might as well just draw a big "$" with a pic of Ben Franklin and be done with it.
Oh, wait, you weren't talking about $T4KS.
Anyway, I recommend Exploration as the card of choice. Explore has better art, but it isn't played in that deck.

You are drawing it? I am just having one printed out with something like a naked picture of me cooking spaghetti. If not that, something equally as awkward for the people in my playgroup.

Yeah, drawing. I kind of want to do Rishdan Port... that art is really nice. So detailed though.
<------ Play a little bit of everything as far as MTG goes and enjoy some other hobbies; playing videogames mainly. Tried to get into 40K and didn't have as much time as I thought.
I think it's certainly viable, but the question isn't so much "is it viable" as much as "is it better than Iona or Griselbrand"? I could see the use for Sire if you can Ritual -> Entomb -> Exhume T1 on the play.
But if it's T2+ and your opponent has Swords to Plowshares mana up, it's going to end up a lot worse for you than reanimating either of the two cards I just named, or Inkwell Leviathan for the hard-to-deal-with threat.
Is Sire of Insanity worth testing? Absolutely. Do I think it's going to break the meta and make Reanimator the top deck in Legacy? No, I think that's asking too much.

Well im only saying have like 1-2 copies in the deck ya know ? as an option for Being on the play t1 and you can drop him t1 hes better then jin in that case that he nukes opponents hand right away and not at the end of thier turn
I'm glad this thread has a legacy theme. I used to have all the cards but I just play ant tes belcher / storm brew so the rest of the cards turned to power.

I think that I'm good at evaluating a card's playability, but playability doesn't always translate to price.
Cards I caught as overhyped:
