I bought a Chinese playset of the new Garruk from mtgmintcard on eBay. They have a TON of feedback, 99% of which is positive. However, I'm somewhat concerned my card is a fake. It's thinner and more maleable than other cards and lacks the distinctive "Magic card smell." Maybe their made from different material in China? I don't know. Has anyone had any experience with these guys?
I have dealt with them before, always been stand up guys. It is very possible that is a real Garruk. While I've dealt with more Japanese than Chinese, fresh out of the pack, Japanese cards feel more oily to the touch, so it is very possible.

Odds of pulling a JtMS from a WWK pack: 1:80
Odds of pulling any specific rare in 5th Edition: 1:133
So, on average, 1 JtMS every 2.222 boxes or 1 Bird of Paradise every 3.694 boxes. Yeah, I'll take my odds with Mythics, they are easier to get than old rares.

I don't have any sort of magnifying glass nearby so I can't really trust my eyes to give me an accurate answer on that what. And I don't really wanna tear up a $25 card--which is why I also don't really want to do the bend test, etc... Hence me wondering if anyone else has gotten fakes from these guys.
Chinese cards do feel a bit different, I purchased a lot of WWK and Rize Chinese playsets, and was concerned they were fake, but I took them to plenty of dealers and they all ended up fine.
Also, you shouldn't be afraid to bend test your cards, if its fake you have already lost yourself the money.

"It's like some kind of Voltron... made of elephants??"
i concur, i have been buying from mtg mint for over a year, extremely dependable, always on time, never incorrect orders...
as for the inconsistencies in prints... i have noticed the same thing, however, the thinness of the cards could be attributed to the new printing methods (look at the new Commander cards, very bold colors & thin. flimsy cardboard). more & more of the new Non-standard releases have been printed this way, likely, wizards is trying to save money & is now printing foreign runs on cheaper cardboard.
the exact same smell was coming from the commander cards as well, i dont think these are fake, as if they were mtg mint would have some serious problems.
besides, its fairly useless to counterfeit new cards with little to no value, as far as i know counterfeits & fakes have always been expensive cards like P9 & duals, which have been known to be counterfeited. counterfeiting is actually an expensive enterprise, & to make up for the costs you have to counterfeit expensive items...
I've bought from them several times and have no troubles with the cards, they look and feel a little different, but I guess it depends on where are the cards printed or something like that, because I have some cards in spanish and those felt a littly oily and the text looks a little bold, unlike english cards, these looks normal.
Mtgmint is one of the few sellers on eBay that I offer repeat business to. I have never had any issues with them, even when I ordered a rather large order of playsets from them.
Magic cards can be bent several times without any markings. Don't bend it all the way over and crease, only fold the end together. I believe that starcitygames has an article on how to check if cards are fake or real.
That seller has several different accounts, all of them in the top 10 of eBay's MTG sellers. (If he combined his accounts, the result would probably dwarf the #2 through #10 sellers put together.) They all ship from Asia and somehow manage to undercut almost everybody else. I don't know how they do it. When I've ordered from them, they got the order right and I didn't have any troubles. No communication, but who cares, the cards arrived and the price was right.

i am going to returns 30% of ordered cards for this company. I bid cards from e-bay under MINT condition but it is obviously near-mint.
If your cards has problem, you cannot download return form. Very funny.
I've ordered cards a couple of times from them. Never had any issues, very reliable, good quality, fast shipping. Top of my head, a shop I would recommend
I had a similar thing happen when I got cards from mtgmint.com. However, my cards were a low money card (Rites of Flourishing). The cards are really glossy and thin. I'll take everyone's word that they are fine and just Chinese. I can't imagine that someone would go to the trouble of faking a card that I paid $0.99 for...
i have never seen a difference in card "quality" between languages before, so this makes me a bit leery. Especially given the absurd amount of counterfeit knockoff stuff in general that leaves china.
MTG Mint Card is hands down the most trusted Chinese MTG dealer I know. I have bought loads of cards from their website and eBay and never experienced a problem. It's clear that a part of their business is off shores which is why I think half of their stock is Chinese (to Eng). I would not second guess their cards, especially that of the CHN variety. Simply because I have seen firsthand them just ripping through cases. The cards I would worry about are high end Eng ones they bought via buylist and somehow failed to spot as counterfeit.

They've been in business for a LONG time, back when they used to accept check/mo made out to "Bob Birmley".
The S-chinese cards they basically flood, so I wouldn't call that "undercutting" the English cards are usually priced with very high BiN's, and I see a lot of buy outs. I actually throw their results out of my search quite a bit because I know I likely won't be getting anywhere near those prices, just like I won't be getting anywhere near SCG prices.
I can only chalk it up to long history, good service, and some ability to get unholy amounts of MTG cards.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Huh. I've generally been fine with these guys, and I've bought a couple things in the last month, but yesterday I bought a playset of foil Chinese Shield of the Oversoul (wanted English, only had Chinese), and they canceled my purchase and refunded my money with no explanation (the eBay field said "seller will provide more info"). I don't really care, because it's a crap common foil for Doran, but I'm really confused, especially considering it's definitely NOT a chase card by any stretch of the imagination.
I have ordered a ton from these guys too. It has never been less than perfect until my last purchase which happened last week. I speculated on 4 playlets of magus of the tabernacle, of which they had 11 playsets listed, and they limited me to one playset and refunded the rest of my money. Honestly I wish they had asked what i wanted to do because combined shipping was what made the transaction worthwhile.
In summation.....Star Trek wins a prolonged naval battle against superior, yet less technologically advanced, numbers, with Picard leading the assault, while Kirk takes your soul by laying out Solo and probably his manservant Chewy as well, before impregnating and ditching your Princess.

Did their listing/site mention that they limited people to 1 playset or something of that nature? Just curious. If they did, then that was on you unfortunately, if not then thats on them for doing that.
Jeff, I was an eBay purchase. Not sure about the limit on multiple playsets. Actually, I used my eBay phone app and accidentally paid before invoicing and had to ask for a shipping discount refund. They gave the partial refund for shipping combination. Then a day later they emailed saying that they only had one playset left. Then they refunded me again for the other three playsets. This was an odd transaction and I am not trying to disparage MTGmint because they have been consistently excellent.

Ordered off of them on ebay a few times. Usually just ordered cheap set off of them.
Only issue once was I ordered a playset of Foil Blackcleave Goblins for $1 and when they came in I had a playset of Foil Blackcleave Cliffs. I know I had a better end of the deal but still emailed them to be honest and they still sent me the Goblins, I'd trust them.

Mine was also an eBay purchase, and mine was not a multiple playset or even a chase rare staple, and they gave no reason as to why they canceled my order and refunded it.

Second of all, Mtgmintcard is quite legit. They're actually a huge dealer, and I've bought from them multiple times, always very professional.
Also, you shouldn't be afraid to bend test your cards, if its fake you have already lost yourself the money.

The Chinese cards version quality should be same as English cards. I have 1300+Chinese card. If possible, please scan your cards here

I have been buying from mtgmintcard for a long time. They tend to miss some playsets once in a while but they redeem themselves pretty nicely.
