The only negative experience I had was when I ordered cards for my Ravnica-block Azorius deck, having ordered foil versions of most of the cards and receiving regular versions instead. I managed to get them exchanged for foils, but some of those foils (especially the Ætherplasms) were in pretty poor condition, and some even had creases.
For the most part, though, they're a reliable website with respectable prices. I live in San Jose, so I've been ordering from them for years and picking up the cards in-store, even back when they still used bigfireball.com as their main website.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Any company that provides me with a track number and states that my items have shipped, when in reality they shipped 5 days after that stated date, just doesn't instill confidence in their ability to retain my business.

I had this same thing happen. All I was buying was a single Iona, and placed my order June 30th. I got the card yesterday. It literally took a month to get a card they had in stock. They never returned my emails so I eventually forgot about this until the card showed up.
Here is a copy of an Email i recently sent to sales@channelfireball:
to: sales@channelfireball.com
I placed an order with you on Friday, July 23rd around 7pm. I shortly thereafter received an Email stating that my order was "Ready to ship!"
Dear Max,
We'd like you to know that all your payments have cleared with us, and your order is ready to be packaged and shipped from our warehouse. You will receive another email when it finally ships.
For your reference, here is what you ordered:
Order Contents:
<Order contents here>
I logically assumed my order would be shipped either Saturday or Monday, whichever was the next business day. I purposely added the 4x Drowned Catacombs to get the Free Priority Mail (2-3 day shipping), as I needed these cards for a tournament on Friday, July 30th. I (again, logically) assumed that my order would arrive well in time.
On the following Sunday, July 25th, i received the following e-mail:
Dear Max,
Your package has shipped, and the tracking number for your package is:
###############
However, only on Wednesday, 3 days later, did i receive notification that my order had shipped
Dear Max,
Your order has shipped from ChannelFireball.com
For your reference, here is what you ordered:
Order Contents:
<Order contents here>
I also had this issue when I preordered a box of Rise of the Eldrazi from your company. I passed that incident since it was a heavily anticipated release, and I expected some confusion or delay in shipping.
I hope you understand the source of, and rationale behind, my frustration. If I had known my product would arrive 7 days after i had ordered it, I would not have added to my order to receive the free, faster shipping. I would like to know the reason why it took at least 3 business days to ship my product, when I received an E-mail on the same day I ordered it, stating that i was ready to ship.
Thank you for your time
USPS claims Priority mail is 2-3 days. I feel like if they tell me my order is ready to ship on Friday, it should ship Saturday or Monday. Even with regular shipping, it should have been here by now (Im in WI). The USPS tracking doesn't even know where my stuff is, it says it hasn't received the package, just the info about it.
I'm having a friend stop by my apartment on Friday after the mail arrives to check (I can't get home before FNM from work). If it's not there by then, i'm probably going to demand some kind of compensation. If it's there, i'll consider the matter settled.
Also, FYI, I ordered the following:
4x BSA
2x Myst. Maze
3x White Leyline
4x Drowning Cats
4x Condemn
Order was roughly 150 USD. I had a bunch of store credit built up.
UPDATE:
It is now 7/30/2010.
I checked tracking again, and it says that it went through a sorting facility in San Jose, CA on the 29th.
I sent them the following mail today
Greetings,
I have just checked my package tracking, and it has finally (and for the first time) updated to reflect that the package has been through a sorting facility in San Jose, CA.
Despite now knowing the status of my package, I am very disappointed with the sloth which my package was shipped. This tracking status suggests my package waited nearly 5 days to be shipped. I should have received my package on Wednesday. Instead it was shipped Thursday. I had need for the cards for today.
I truly hope this was an anomalous incident.
I have posted my experiences in this matter thus far on the MTGSalvation forums, and will be happy to post any explanation for why this happened (which will be written even-handed and fairly). I am frustrated by all of this, but am willing to hear any reasons for why it happened, and anything else regarding how you intend to handle this situation's resolution.
Your company has always offered excellent buy prices, a more than generous bonus to store credit, and have always been most expedient in processing my Buy orders. I would expect the same from your sales staff and shipping crew, as would most customers.
Thank you in advance for a timely reply
UPDATE:
I have received a reply from their sales staff, regarding my order. It goes as follows:
Dear Max,
Sorry for the delay, we were running behind because of the m11 release, and some packages were late. Because of the delay, I went ahead and credited your channelfireball account for $10, and you should receive the package early next week. I understand if you would like to return the package, and I can offer you a full refund on any of the cards that you do not want.
Seeing as how i ordered my product a week after M11 came out, I can accept this excuse. However, I expressly told them (and meant) that all I wanted was a clear reason WHY my product was late, and they provided that. I am still a bit disappointed that they do not staff properly to handle the influx of orders during release season, but they did give me a 10 dollar credit, which is acceptable for me. Although offering to return my package was of little use, since I purchased them with store credit, and offering a refund AND store credit seems self-defeating, since if I wanted a refund, one would assume I was not going to shop with them.
However, having worked in retail, this is all S.O.P. for dealing with this situation, and I am satisfied. They were courteous and relatively punctual in addressing my complaint (1 day after isn't bad at all, and the reply was to the first email I sent).
All in all, I offer this advice:
channelfireball offers some of THE best buy prices for cards, and they pay out a 30% bonus in store credit (Getting you, sometimes, almost full trade value for cards you sell to them.) They also offer free shipping on orders over 50 bucks. Finally, their prices are usually some of the most competitive.
Expect your stuff to get there a little later than you might hope, and never pay for expedited shipping.
If you have an issue, the BEST. POSSIBLE. WAY. TO. DEAL. WITH. IT. is to send a polite, firm email explaining your problem, and your expectations toward how it will be solved. Do not go on a rant. You gain ground with retailers through a combination of two things: Politeness and persistence. Combining these two things will yield you the quickest, best results.
I may have pursued the issue further with them, but I ended up going 4-0 at FNM anyway, so i'm in a good mood!
I ordered from them a for the first time on 7/18. I ordered 4 Baneslayers as the price had dropped to $28, as well as some other goodies, for a total order of around $150. I opted for the free priority mail shipping (advertised as arriving in 1-3 days of being shipped) as I had a PTQ on the following weekend, i.e. the 24th.
On the 19th they gave me a tracking number, and I checked it daily only to see from USPS "Shipping information received."
On the 23rd they sent me an e-mail saying my order had shipped.
On the 28th, i.e. 10 days later, I sent them an angry e-mail asking them to explain what the hold up is. My order shipped on the 30th, and I got it on Monday, but they never bothered to reply to my e-mail.
I'll be buying from SCG or another vendor in the future.
I ordered cards and made two different orders because I had those gift card cc. Well about a week later I received the first package with no problem but the second one took them like 2 months. I gave them a call and they said they did not have all the cards I had ordered and were trying to track some down. It took them about 3 months for the order to be finshed and in my hands. I will never order from them again.
My first order from Channel Fireball went very well, and I was extremely pleased with their service.
My order consisted of a number of Beta cards that are for a collection, not playing. They were advertised in NM condition, but I know that older cards can sit in stock for a long time, and sometimes they aren't actually NM. I included a note with my order asking if they could double check the condition of the cards before sending them to me.
I soon received an email saying they had checked, found out three cards weren't NM, and asked if I wanted them at a discount or wanted a refund. I got the refund and when my order did arrive a mere two days later, I was extremely pleased with the condition of the cards included.
Channel Fireball definitely earned my trust with this order.
I've had negative experiences with them as well they stole $400 worth of items from me during M10. I contacted them many times and the NEVER PAID. I no longer ship them anything and always steer people to the reputable online guys now if I don't have the items in stock. Here's the data from my sale to them that they NEVER PAID FOR:

Visit me at www.packfreshmagic.com ,I've got tons of singles, at low prices. I ship same day or next day worldwide!
This has been my go-to online retailer since I got back in the game, because their site is so easy to navigate compared to a few of the other prominent ones - it's much easier to browse their site for cards than others are - and their prices are pretty reasonable for an online retailer. They don't beat eBay, but they sure beat SCG pretty much 100% of the time.
Except for one occasion, if I order cards Friday night after an FNM I have them by next Friday's mail, and if I get priority mail I have them on Thursday mail. I did have a long delay on one of my orders (took about two weeks even with priority mail) but it was the week after M11 and they were slammed from pre-order processing I guess. The order included a couple of JTMS so I was a little concerned, to say the least. Anyhow, I wrote a polite email about it and they gave me $10 in store credit for the inconvenience, and the order I spent that on went smoothly just as before, so I was pleased with their customer service and kept using them.
Their emails about when the order is "processed" and "ready to ship" and then telling you when it ships are all a little wonky, I don't think they actually correlate to when the item is packaged or shipped very precisely, but as long as it gets here or they make me happy afterwards, I'm fine with it. Anyhow, just wanted to write that my experience has been overall pretty positive with them, though obviously some folks had different experiences.
i bought over $50 worth of m11 lands, and there was about 20 missing and i got no response from them. i just go to <snip> now, they send fast and wont steal from you.
I've had 23 orders placed at CFB, and the only glitch came on my 23rd order which contained about $60 worth of singles and 2 packs of sleeves. I received everything quickly except the sleeves, so I called their number listed on their site, had a 30 second conversation with a friendly employee, and the sleeves were here less than 48 hours later. I was pretty amazed by the service considering what else I am hearing here. Are you guys actually trying to call them, or just sending emails?
My only minor complaint about CFB is their inventory on non-Standard cards...they are either out, or only have 1-2 copies of many cards, even the janky commons/uncommons. They are still first in line when I want to make a purchase.
EDIT: Just noticed I already posted basically this on the first page. Oh well...at least the customer service part of my story was recent!
I've made two orders from them so far. The first was after selling a bunch of cards at a GP for store credit, I ordered a bunch of cards for my cube. Everything went smoothly and I received the cards promptly.
My second order was for a single Survival of the Fittest, marked at M/NM. I received it today (shipping time was fine) but the card is definitely not what I would consider NM. The front looks ok with some small dings on one side but nothing major. However, the back has a very obvious large scratch in it along with a spot in the middle of the card that is faded out, looks kinda like it was hit with an eraser or something. It makes me a lot more hesitant to purchase online from them again as they appear to have a poor grading process.
I've placed a Scars of Mirrodin preorder with Channelfireball and my order was missing 2 Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon and instead they added 2 Strata Scythe which I did not order. Conveniently the price of the Dragon has gone up about 8 dollars already by the time I received my package.
I'd like to think it was a mistake, but I have to wonder if it's a bait and switch. When I called the customer service number on the website shortly after 5pm there was no one there to answer the phone ... of course. I sent an email about the problem and a screen shot of me holding all the cards.
This is my 8th order with them in 15 months and this is the first out bound order they have screwed up, but it's a pretty big screw up considering this is a quasi chase mythic. Seems fishy.
I suppose I'll see if they make things right or not and by that I mean ship me the two cards I ordered at about $24.00 instead of simply giving me $24.00 dollars back. That would screw me out of $18.00 or more dollars; $16.00 for the increased price of the two cards + shipping from some one else.
They did me wrong on one card I mailed in for sale. I've sold cards to multiple web dealers and have received full credit on all my cards except for the one I sent to channelfireball. They significantly reduced the price they said they were offering for the card claiming it wasn't up to snuff. Interesting that I never had that problem with any other dealer though.
It's also interesting that I don't recall getting any more feed back emails from them after I gave them that one negative one. No wonder they have such a high rating?
Needless to say I wont sell them any more of my cards, but until now I hadn't had any problems with them mailing me cards. Hopefully they will do the right thing. I'll post their response to the error.
I preordered 4 Koth and 4 of the RG aggro-land from their store and received my package in excellent condition about a day or so after the set release.
As to not play the double-standard game with rating this store, I will admit when they do well and here they succeeded in every regard (especially since other users are posting presale horror stories).

In fairness I am posting that Channelfireball expedited 2 Skittles to me. I have already placed another order with them as my trust is restored.
they are a good company and have made things right for me in the past. That being said when I preordered worldwake and the prices rose drastically on some cards, they emailed me requesting a higher price than what I paid for them.
Ive ordered from channel fireball multiple times, and had nearly flawless deliveries. The only time I had an issue, I ordered on Saturday (just after midnight on Friday) and on Tuesday I still hadn't received a shipping confirmation. I called and asked what happened, and was told their was a delay in getting the items together, and they would upgrade me from my free first class to free priority shipping. I got a shipping confirmation later that day, and received the order on Friday morning.
Aside from this, I've never had to contact them for missing or late orders. Occasionally it will take 2 days for a shipping confirmation to arrive, but I make sure I leave time for my items to arrive or pay for the shipping I need to get it on time.
Additionally, i have sold to them on 2 occasions, and both times were flawless. I sold them a FTV:relics, and after they agreed on a price, they cut the price they were offering on the website. When they got mine, I received the full price agreed on as expected, with the 30% extra for store credit. I have since sold them a pair of elspeth and venser for store credit, and the process was smooth just the same.

Thinking of quitting M:TG? Want to sell your collection? PM me, i will off you a good price, and you will be selling to a store so its safe!
I've ordered 4 foil Brainstorms from Masques
FBB Taiga
Japanese LED
Some korean stuff
Everything was shipped fast, came NM and no problems at all.

As to not play the double-standard game with rating this store, I will admit when they do well and here they succeeded in every regard (especially since other users are posting presale horror stories).

In fairness I am posting that Channelfireball expedited 2 Skittles to me. I have already placed another order with them as my trust is restored.
