Pilerboy, please please PLEASE make a separate thread to carry out your vendetta against Western Union -- we're in this thread to discuss SCG.
I wholly endorse and support a claims thread for/against the use of Western Union on this board, especially if it's a noted alternative to other forms of payment for cards on and off this site... but not in the middle of an ongoing thread.
As for paying SCG with Western Union, it's easy, but remember to take into account the WU fees. They can be pretty stiff.
I ordered about 2k$ worth of cards from SCG (plenty of ~100 $ beta duals) from Europe and as the purchase was pretty big was asked to pay by either bank transfer or by Western Union.
As the bank transfer takes about two weeks and the bank charges about 40 € for such a transfer (And US doesn't yet always understand that the I in IBAN means International [which includes US]) I decided to use WU.
What I got was nearly instant gratification, but the price was pretty steep. The transfer cost me about 150 € as fees. And after the package came through customs, I had paid about 25-30 % more than I had originally estimated.
The good part is that Duals have risen plenty after that so just the duals I bought have easily recouped the loss.
But as a lesson, be sure to read the Western Union transfer cost table carefully. The cost of moving money can be up to 15 % of the amount you send, so remember to calculate that in before you buy. Also remember to check out how your countrys customs handle trading cards. I've managed to talk them out of tolling me several times, but this time it was not possible, due to UPS having paid the toll and just sending me the bill. (I was not a happy camper at that point...)
Still the bottom line is that it really sucks to get your cards stuck at customs, when you've spent all your ready cash for the next few weeks already in purchasing those cards.
Emailed SCG the other day asking that they allow you to add cards to your wishlist that are not in stock. Always hated re-searching for stuff everytime I wanted to make more purchases towards foiling out my commander deck.
Got a reply back next day notifying me that they added that feature.
Pretty impressed!
Only places I order from anymore are SCG and TnT. If SCG ever lowered their shipping prices on singles I feel like they'd be the best in every category.
Ordered from SCG and got my stuff yesterday. However, instead of getting the Consecrated Sphinx I ordered, I got a Contested War Zone in its place instead. Figures something like that happens the first time I order from SCG. >_>
since no one from our group has said anything about this... i just thought i'd mention that our group really enjoys SCG as a price guide, we take SCG's price and multiply it by 2/3. not even kidding, our group estimates that SCG inflates prices by that margin.
EDIT: as for the service thumbs up, cards were in stated condition or better and we got our stuff fast, however if our dealer had the cards i had to order i would never have payed those prices

ABUGames makes SCG look like cheapskates in comparison. I'm not exactly too thrilled with SCG myself, but ABUGames's prices are unreal.
To be honest, I hate how SCG never seems to have anything good in stock that's several years old more than their relatively high prices.

That was the the first thing I did after I got my cards on Friday. This morning I got an email saying that the Consecrated Sphinx was shipped and that I could keep the Contested War Zone. Problem solved
Yesterday I submitted a email to trade some cards in for store credit to SCG. It's the first time I've ever done this. I got an email early this morning saying the trade was accepted and to send the cards in. So far I'm very impressed with the service. The guy that wrote me back was polite, concise, and very accommodating in answering my questions.
I will update this post as the transaction reaches completion.
Update: 3-2 got an email saying the cards were received and the store credit was issued. Unbelievably awesome turn-around time. Very happy with this transaction. I would definitely recommend SCG
Did a recent transaction where I sent in about 80+ rares to SCG for trade in. They were able to approve my request the very next morning. I sent the items out and they were able to credit the account the day they received the cards. So within 4 days I was able to turn my cards that were filling my binders into cash that I could use for decks I wanted to play.
The person I worked with was very friendly and answered some of my questions which may have been annoying since I was a bit paranoid about using the service in the first place.
I will definitely use them again.

I will not personally be in Los Angeles, sorry - but thank you for the praise! I will be attending our Open in Edison, NJ this weekend, GP: Dallas, GP: Providence, and the SCG Open featuring the Invitational in Indianapolis.
I'd be happy to either do a trade through the mail, or set you up with one of our buyers for the LA event (I trust them to treat you as fairly as I did!), so private message me to talk about this further
They are tier 1 when it comes to orders, shipping time, card selection, and customer service is great, because I've never had to use them :P, everything comes perfect and exactly what I want. Their grading scale is great, the FAQ on it is amazing.
Their shipping is a little expensive for just singles, but I can live with that.
I love how they always write "Thanks (your name)" on the receipt, every time I order from them I try to get them to say something else by typing stuff in the comment field :p, I will succeed to get their notice someday!
Anyways, A++ guys, and I always look forward to doing business with them!

Yet another flawless transaction with Starcity. Ordered from their website, paid promptly and within a couple days my cards had arrived. All of the cards were in great condition and were packed well, I couldnt ask for anything more :). Thanks guys!
Jeff, I didn't know other dealers bought from SCG...
And I'll echo the good vibes on SCG, since I've ordered from them a few times and the service has been spot on. If you are ever nervous about ordering online, SCG is the best option since their service is top notch.

As Ben mentioned in another thread, even sellers of cards need to restock every once in a while, hehe :). Whether its old boxes or some random singles that I happen to have run out of, Ive never had any issues dealing with them.
I ordered a $200 card from SGC with 2nd-Day Air shipping. It was graded as "Slightly Played" on the website.
Card didn't get here on time (through the fault of UPS, not SCG), I contacted SCG and they gave me a full refund for the shipping. Card has now arrived and is in great condition, NM- at worst! Great experience with these guys, and I will gladly buy from them again.

Glad you had a good experience! Our grading philosophy can be summed up as this:
You will get complaints if they pay for a NM card, and get an SP card.
Nobody will complain if they pay for an SP card and get a NM card.

Hehe, exactly my experience. If you grade something as NM that is mint they wont complain, if you grade something less and give them NM, then they wont complain. In the end people are picky so if you call it less than what it is, then they have absolutely no reason/way to complain :).
I wanted to throw my hat in the ring of saying a love shopping with SCG. While their prices can be a bit high on certain cards, they are the place I go for commander or cube foils. I know if I am looking for some random foil, this is the place to go. Also having sold cards to them at several events, I cannot have higher praise for their buyers. Plus their pick up cards at event feature is great, it allows me to keep a couple foils I want and not have to pay any shipping for them.

I just recieved my most recent order in the mail today. Excellent shipping time and superb service. I've been doing business with them for quite a while now, and look forward to doing so in the future. These guys rock!
I've made quite a few orders to SCG in the last few months. I live in New Zealand and the cards have typically arrived within 7 days or so with First Class International shipping. I've been very happy so far with SCGs speed of service and everything on top of that.
I've been waiting for my order that I placed almost 2 weeks ago and starting to get paranoid! Hopefully I get it soon.
I purchase cards from these guys all the time. They are generally "the going rate" place when it comes to prices.

I just want people who redraft to admit this:
"I can't draft objectively unless I am able to guarantee that I receive at least 3 rares. I am also better than most average/new players so I want to make sure that I get the best rares and they end up with worse ones. I care more about the monetary value of cards than actually playing the game for decent prizes."
