Basically, Ben ran an eBay store under the name CommonsUncommonsRares for awhile. At least, he was the payee for money you spent at that store, so I assume it was his. I use the past tense because the store recently imploded and got yanked off eBay. It looks like all of his preorders for Oath of the Gatewatch (including my own!) went unfullfilled and he walked away with any money that has not been yanked back by eBay yet. Thing is, he's always been a reliable retailer before. Anyone know what happened to him? Personal tragedy? I think I found his Twitter account, and there's no word there of any kind of crisis. Did he just bail with the cash?
Yeah, that's the same link I provided. Ben appears to be a long time player and is mentioned in some of Randy Bhuelers old articles. So, I was wondering if we are dealing with a crook or just someone who had a personal crisis.
I think he went by @Soupy_George online, and he's got some decks out there on TCGPlayer, too. Seems strange that he'd just vanish.
It's really odd. I bought a bunch of stuff from him and felt pretty good, since he had a 99.9% rating and over 22k feedback. And then...nothing. Like a lot of people, I got a tracking number, but all that means is a shipping label was printed. It never updated after that. Thankfully I was able to get my money back courtesy of eBay, but it's so bizarre.
Right, that's what I'm wondering about. It seems odd that he would suddenly decide to steal everyone's money and bail. It seems more likely something happened to him or his business, and I'm wondering what that is.
Of course, if he did just steal everyone's money, I'm interested in learning more about him because the scope might be large enough to refer to his state's Attorney General's office.
It does seem bizarre after doing ell for so many years to just default on everything. If something did happen. it would have o have been between when the shipping labels were printed (which myself and many others received) and when the cards were actually mailed. which shouldn't have been more than a couple days apart. That's a pretty small window for something catastrophic to happen. Not impossible, I guess, but the complete silence on his end makes it impossible to know for sure.
Sorry to somewhat necro this thread. I can actually provide some more info. Ben is currently being sued by myself and at least one other person for non-payment on purchasing collections. He's been ghosting the lawyer and several others for a while now. Sorry to hear about all this, I wish I could have done more/known sooner.

Not looking good, but I hope it works out for you and the others.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it....

I got my money back, at least. Sorry to those who didn't. There were quite a few affected parties from the looks of it.

Of course, it could be someone with the same name.
Anyone in that area able to follow up and clarify?
