I definitely agree with that. More discussion about the environment is critical, and it's really appalling how it's been almost completely ignored in debates.
You think Jill Stein harping about the environment would have been useless to the discourse?
Yes, I do, because Jill Stein is a complete moron. Likewise I don't think Donald Trump has assisted the case for immigration reform, nor do I believe Gary Johnson has helped the cause for smaller government.

I'll put Vermin Supreme on the debate stage* if he promotes environmentalism because nobody's burying the lead with those other topics.
*And there's how Jill Stein was able to coast until Bernie Sanders dropping out of the race gave her campaign a shot of adrenaline, which she's screwing up even to this day. If it's the pet issue, no one's screening for quality.

And there are some people who would say the same thing about putting Donald Trump on the stage if he promotes securing the borders. Except how'd that go?

Donald Trump has revived and legitimizied a national white power movement. I hate it, but it's going to be a political force moving forward that has to be addressed. I'd say based on that criteria, Trump did exactly what he set out to do. The question is not how much he accomplished, but how much of his poisonous agenda will have to be fought.
I'd say Trump has succeeded, and it gives legitimacy to all potential protest candidates (so did Bernie Sanders). Now if only what he had been protesting had been less horrible than his call against common human decency. Like say… environmentalism.

Making an non-serious, ignorant incompetent the voice of an issue usually doesn't do a good job to communicate how serious the issue is.
I wish that were completely true, but I've learned that anyone who the public will listen to, serious or not, gets to communicate the issue. It's just luck.
In this case, Jill Stein was not lucky. I already voted for Clinton this morning, and I was planning to vote for her 99% since I created this thread.
