This is the 2nd time I've used this picture today:
I'm not really sure how to react. Its sad but I think I'm beyond the point of really feeling anything about the events that happen over at MTGnews... kind of a bad thing, eh? Suppose it comes from being so sick and tired of all of this. Oh well, it all could be over... maybe...
Go read the Community Cafe......from what I can see, this was Raa's decision and S_S was very much pushed out of the picture.
And apparently it was Cyric that did the pushing. I wouldn't shrug off going back to the site without giving it another chance. Some of the admin's and mods over there are still working to save News, and I think everyone should give them a chance to do it.

I'm guessing Greg. Scott wouldn't do it himself I don't think. And he isn't on the forum leaders, so without a hack, that means he doens't have any powers.

Well, seems like spoiler chains(And with them my old sig) have been broken by The Man.
The Man is a Jackass and apparently he is also a Communist.

Now all they need to do is unban the third of the community that was just saying things that were common sense, and they might have a chance to at least survive the idiocy.
We're still forgetting something else important: R_E is not going back, no matter what (he has told me this himself). So if you're a follower of R_E (and his rumors), he will be here. Just getting rid of S_S is not the biggest problem: I'd say their biggest is the loss of R_E.
I'm currently posting in both forums, and will probably continue to do so. This is rather good news anyway, because I (and all of you, I guess) was pretty sad with the way things were going there.

Ignorance may be bliss, but the ignorant are still stupid.
Scott has definitely caused MTGnews great losses and there are some things it will never gain back. As I said in the "if s_s was de-admined would you come back" thread, scott has left a scar on mtgnews that will be there forever. He's tainted it, and there's alot of people who will never look at it the same way again. I know I'm one of them. Actually unless someone links me there to show me something, I don't even visit it. I just don't want to look at it, it's a reminder to me of all the things that have happened in the months since Raa bought the website and it hurts me to know that nothing will ever be the same again. I am however happy that those there who wish to continue to try and revive the community are now free to do so without a dark shadow hovering over them. I'm also happy that I won't have to come onto this forum everyday and look here and be stressed out and afraid of what I'll read next.
Too bad Greg didn't boot S_S out sooner. He might have been able to save the site. Now its too late. Even with some of the hardworking mods over there the community will never be the same. The S_S taint will haunt the place for the remainder of its existence.
I dunno...I made my divorce "official" today, what with a ta-ta over there and a "howdy" here. There's no doubt that R_E is an unparalleled source/conduit of good rumors, and that's plenty of reason to stick with MTGSalvation. Still, if 'News can come up with something of value and fix the problems they have, I'd be willing to at least lurk and read.
Heck, I was already visiting multiple MTG sites daily (official site for obvious reasons, SCG for quality and quantity of articles, and 'News for rumors...now here) anyway.
Let's all just try to keep it civil and take the high road, OK? It makes the cause look that much more legit.

I just came back to the Magic world and.... what a friggen' mess.
I'll likely be active on both sites (assuming I actually have time now to be active), but many of the people I most respect appear here. As such, I'll be leaning toward this site more than mtgnews.
Firing/retiring/whatevering S_S doesn't change my outlook. That just means one less recognizable name on mtgnews.

ok it probably doesn't mean sh*t
but its a good step in the right direction :badger:
The former suggests that Greg is finally paying attention. The latter implies that they've only managed to solve one of their outstanding problems.
Too bad I just got myself banned, probably. heh.

Then again, the people I respect most appear to have settled in here, so it's probably too little, too late for mtgnews.
