No God Modding - You are in control of your character, and your character alone, unless otherwise stated by a World Moderator, or a player. Don't take control of anyone else, PC or NPC.
Don't Kill without Permission - While there will be many characters that you can kill, there are also many that you can't. If you try to kill someone or something, do it in an open-ended manner that leaves the possibility of escape.
Don't Be Irritating - This is fairly general, and fairly obvious. The World Project is meant to be enjoyable for all of us, so don't do things that will take the fun away from other people. This also includes posting illegibly, be it spelling, grammar or font.
Getting Started
To begin in After the Dark, first go to the character creation thread "The Survivors", and build a character that you will be happy with.
Characters will start off fairly basic, with a few weapons, some ammunition, 300 credits, and whatever miscellaneous items you need. Regular Humans will be allowed more in the way of technology and physical strength, While Mutated Humans will have limited telepathic and telekinetic power, though mutated humans are physical weaker.
When you make a character, you may choose to align your character with one of several factions that inhabit the world of After the Dark. These factions will often prove to be beneficial as they may be able to provide steady employment, as well as providing potential allies.
Quests What are they?
Quests are the method in which one will earn items or cash and become stronger. In addition, quests will advance the storyline of the game.
How can I get into a Quest?
You can get into quests in several different ways. First, check the local paper, as it will often have job opportunities available. One can also try asking around in bars and restaurants, as you never know who might need something done. Finally, if you are aligned with a faction, try asking other members of that faction; you never know how they can help you.
Time
Game Mods will state at the beginning of a quest, if necessary, whether it is at day or night.
Combat
Fights will be largely left to the players, how much damage you take, how you attack, who you aim at, will be left up to you. Mods will take care of damage for NPCs. Be reasonable, you are not Neo, nor is this the Matrix, and you cannot dodge every bullet. Also if you get hit, don’t keep fighting as if you have not been.

It is the year 2200 and civilization as we know it has fallen. In 2012 a catastrophic nuclear war devastated the planet; nobody knows why and how it began. For 50 years, in the devastating nuclear winter known in Legends and stories as the dark, humanity struggled for its very survival. But now 198 years after the war Humanity is starting to recover in a strange new world. A world of radioactive dust storms Ruins of once great cities, and mutations. But now is a time of change as the shifting Lands and changes to the Earth have brought about the discovery of many mysteries of predark civilization., Strange people and objects have been sighted, that seem not of this world. Also certain Factions and Leaders have begun to rise, promising many things.........
Gameplay Information
PC Races Humans(Can work with technology better the mutated humans) Mutated Humans (Humans with limited psychic or telekinetic power, but physically weaker then old humans)
NPC Races The Old Ones (Mysterious beings that have been sighted only vary recently, nothing is known about them, they appear to be Human at first, but display startling powers and knowledge)

You will not have to align yourself with a faction, but the various factions may provide allies or jobs
The Prophets
A man of Mystery who claims to come from The Middle East. He claims to have discovered the cradle of civilization and there was given a vision from God, showing him how to make a new world, many followers have flocked to him and he has made his temple headquarters one of the largest islands in the California island chain.
The New World Order
Right before the war, several important political and military leaders were placed in suspended animation at Area 51 with a timer set for 190 years. Awakened they have begun gathering an Army with which the plan to Dominate the planet and form a perfect utopia in allegiance with a group of Mutated Humans that wish to rebuild the world with themselves on top.
The Death Cult
A strange new religion that became noticed only a few years ago, The Death cult followers worship a combination of Various Religious apocalypse scenarios and High school Goth culture. No Headquarters of the Death Cult is known. The Death Cult believes that the world should have been destroyed in the war, and they aim to finish the job.
The Guardians
Opponents of the new World order, the Guardians travel the Earth searching for Predark knowledge and technology to preserve it and to fight the New World Order. The guardians wish to rebuild The World exactly how it was before the dark.
Locations
The game will primarily take place in North America, but other locations may end up being ventured into.

Rebuilt fully since the war, Las Vegas serves basically the same purpose it did before the dark.
The Giza Plateau
Home of the Pyramids and the Sphinx.
Technology
Tech in 2100 is mainly things recovered from the ruins of predark civilization.
Weapons
Plenty of Guns and other military equipment still survive and some basic arms plants are active. And Plenty of Melee weapons are in use
Transport
Some cars and Military vehicles are in use, also a strange network of portal like teleporters were discovered linking military bases and government installation, which can use them, depends on who controls them. Air travel is virtually non existent except for a few helicopters operated by various factions. Sea travel consists of some homebuilt boats and a few found in operation condition from before the dark
Other
Electricity and some Computers scavenged from underground military depots are in use by various cities and factions.

Well for those who know me from Conquest of Mages, you know I love maps. I think they are key to role playing. So I have developed one for this world. There are no countries in this world as diplomacy has completely broken down. Waters have rised and polar caps have began melting.
