Elena ponders the situation for a good while. Cure them all, he said...cure them of what? Vampirism, melancholy, disease, and lunacy...there wasn't an obvious way to do it. And with her mana as limited as it was...what was there to do?
A thought came to her. It would require a lot of...lateral thinking, but she didn't have many other options at the time. She'd need more mana, though. Jundian shamans had a way to do that, though...it took some concentration, working with the fiery energy, but the artificer soon completed two [card=seething song]rituals to amplify her mana cache, before weaving it into another form of mana - a pure white essence the bantian girl was quite comfortable around. Drawing power from her mystical pendant, she got to work on her spell...

Tombbrood looks around. He doesn't want to trek the ground to this "Kilkren Way". He looks around the street of Kandor for a bit until he finds a stagecoach ad. "25 coins, going anywhere you want."
Tombbrood sighs, and he is relieved. He pays the 25 from his cloaked pockets to take a shortcut to Kilkren Way.
OOC: sorry for being out of the loop - I'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment. I will try to keep this up.
Reminders for Every Update: I'm not going to repost cards with literally no changes on them, such as quests or characters. That doesn't mean the quests aren't active and the characters aren't still there. Also, I suggest you read every spoiler to see what is happening in the world. If you want a link or the info for a card that isn't reposted here, like a quest or character, PM me or see if its in the Almanac.
As always, PM me if you see any errors. Look especially at exp, inventories, mana, and temporary effects.
You oust the horse (+5 exp) and then look around, finding some mana, and snatching up the book. You then head back to...
OOC: You know you can move two spaces at once, right?
Once again, your plan fails to materialize fully, though it comes closer. You manage to make yourself stronger (+5 exp), then you cast your extinguishing spell (+5 exp). Interestingly enough, the moment the magical energy of your initial spell hit the wall, it seemed to diminish slightly. But the damage you dealt to the wall yourself seemed to have no effect on it, and it subsequently resurged to its full strength. To conserve your mana, you once again cast a mana spell (+10 exp).
You make your way to...
...where you present the items to Mirna. She motions you onto a ward placed on the ground. As you stand there, Mirna holds each of the two objects above her head, muttering an indecipherable incantation. Suddenly you feel a swirl of magic surround you, and you are unable to see through it. The whirlwind stops, and the energies that were around you jump within you. You feel a new sense of power.
Congratulations. You may now cast Aura spells. See your player card for limitations and details.
You also get 10 exp. for the quest.
Mirna, when prompted, seems to know little about the wall, save that it has been an inconvenience.
You each find mana.
You head back to...
and find...
a Guardian's Elixir! It prevents all damage that would be dealt to you and your allies on the turn consumed. Welcome back!
You pay the stagecoach his fee and he brings you to...
As you arrive, you feel the divining rod trembling in your bag.
You cast your first ritual (+10 exp) and then a second, then morphing the mana as you see fit (+10 exp). You then activate your amulet to cast your Purifying Blaze (+15 exp), which, sadly, seems to only cure the diseased man.
The master descends downward, saying "It was a valiant effort, but it is not always so simple as you tried to make it. Different ailments require wildly different solutions, and what works on one will likely not work on the others. That said, I have nobody waiting for me, so if you wish to try this challenge again, or to try another, simply give the word."
You manage to sell all your golden sand to Sersha for a total of 30 gold, then you head south to...
Wow those skeletons were some big skeletons. In order to defeat them, Galin was going to need to call on darker powers than he had before, but he was stronger now then when he first come to this world.
He summoned up some his own black mana black mana and used to begin a Dark Ritual. Once the ritual was complete and he could feel his new found dark mana coursing through him, he tapped into a bit of the red mana he'd siphoned from the bear and made a slashing gesture as he infused it with some of his borrowed dark power to Terminate one of the skeletons. With one now dust, he used the last of his borrowed power to shift the rocks on the ridge so the last to skeletons had a Tragic Slip.
Once the skeletons were vanquished Galin siphoned off what mana he could from them and then began to loot the crumbled bodies for bone meal.
ooc breakdown:
Once again, kudos socrates. This puzzle made me think for a while.
1. B dark ritual up some more mana (BBB)
2. use R and B to terminate a skeleton
3. Use the last twoB to give each skeleton a Tragic Slip seeing as the 1st skeleton (thank you terminate) can't be regenerated and is still "dead", the morbid kicks in, both get -13/-13, and die without regeneration as well.
4. Drink some some B mana from all three skeletons
5. Loot for bone meal.
6. Conditional: If I get 3 new bags of bone meal, I'll move west to Sandridge Path to turn in quest to Durvun
Elena sits there, pondering. She had hoped to do a bit better than one out of four...but her mana cache was ever dwindling and if she wanted to not fall into a mana-deprived stupor again, there weren't many other options.
"I would like to try something else...but I'm unsure that I could do much with what little power I have left. Could you give me a few minutes?"
Assuming the Master didn't object, Elena will take some time to herself, focusing her mind and gathering any mana she can find before taking another attempt. It wouldn't feel right to use the same tricks as last time, and with what little mana the artificer had, she'd need to repeat the rituals to have any spellcasting ability left.

At last Nanjiro thinks he has the solution to solve the nefarious nuisance of the wall. Continuing the theme of Shizen, he composes some pentad poetry to concentrate his mana, turning his green and blue mana both into pure blue mana.

Absorb the FlamesUU
Sorcery (C)
Destroy target red Wall. Add RR to your mana pool. If you paid the kicker cost it can`t regenerate.
Kicker UU
Nanjiro pours all of his blue mana into his spell hoping to ensure the wall is extinguished completely and doesn`t regenerate itself. He aims his extremely blue spell at the huge wall of flames, absorbing its essence into himself as fire mana.
Using UG to cast Prismatic Poetry to make UU which I copy with Mirror of Mizzet to make another UU. With UUUU in my pool I cast a kicked Absorb the Flames. If this extinguishes the wall I move south and search for creatures to battle there.
I approach Forshoo and ask him if he's heard of any places where one might be able to learn to become a maker of Artifact Trinkets. He seems like a knowledgeable guy...

"Naltraz, could you do me a favor?" asks Kyra as they prepare to leave Mirna's Shack. "The cursed item I mentioned earlier is called the Dreamreaper's Cowl, left with Grubins the Guiding Goblin at Pol River Bank. You can move faster than I can, so I'd appreciate if you'd take a brief detour to pick it up and bring it south with us. I hear there's someone south of Kandoria who can appraise it, if we can't discern what's causing it ourselves."
Kyra castsSpectral Flight on herself to test out her new Aura-granting powers. She then flies westward to Pol River Cave and searches for mana.
Using 1U to cast. Let's try out this Aura thing.
Also, the tooth and skull should be gone from my inventory, since they were consumed in the making of the elixir.
After he has finished, bone and skeleton like glowing bits start appearing on his body, wrapped lightly around his arms, legs, and torso, a circlet of bone also appearing upon his head underneath his hood. On his hand, to add to his power, bone gauntlets with sharp nails now cover them.
He moves far enough to make it to Pol River Bank.
He sees the pair there, seeming to be... out of it, he can't exactly explain why. No matter though. He quickly uses his skills to take the cloak without being seen, and then searching for Mana while he hides.

You have failed to stop the Age of Nightmares in time. Darkness descends upon Atruna, seeping into its inhabitants' very souls. You all die, and the world ends.
But seriously, as I posted in the discussion thread, my inability to work on game updates from work combined with the long hours of said work is making it very difficult to continue this game. I would gladly turn it over to someone else, and would likely start a new, very different kind of game that didn't use any pictures and wasn't pro-multiplayer so that I could update it from work.
But seriously, I would be very happy if someone would take over as leader of this game. I will send you the MSE file and fill you in on my map and plans, and the rest I've been making up as I go anyway, so you could do the same. Think about it. PM me if you're interested.
You ritual up some mana and subsequently terminate one skeleton. The others tragically slip on its bones and then fall apart themselves. You manage to accumulate two more piles of bone meal and drink two B worth of mana, gaining 25 experience through the process.
You find some mana and take to another challenge. The master once again ascends to his chamber and presents to you a new challenge: Six stone statues emerge from the ground, they are 3/3 artifact creatures. "Destroy all the idols, but target exactly half of them!"
NOTE: You don't have to target them all at once, but to succeed, they must all have been destroyed, and exactly three must have been the target of a spell or ability in the process."
Your series of spells finally succeeds, and the wall languishes before fading away. You gain 15 experience in the process. You head south past the wall to:
You are swiftly attacked by...
"Why yes! You've come to the right place! Trinkets, as you may have surmised, are my specialty. Big ones, small ones, ones with spikes! All the trinkets you could possibly want. But what's that? You want to make your own trinkets? An admirable endeavor, indeed! Maybe someday something of yours will find its way into my great spiral, yes? I can help you with these trinkets, but first you must find some materials for me.
You each make yourself Aurificent and then head out.
Kyra gets to...
...but fails to find mana.
Naltarz gets to...
...where he takes the mysterious cursed cowl, but tragically also fails to find mana.
You scare away the world (+5 exp) then pull out the divining rod. Suddenly, some of the trees which seemed too close to even navigate between part ways, and a strange murky black portal stands between them. You tentatively walk through it and find yourself in a strange alternate realm with purple skies. You walk down the path, which seems to do a barrel roll through the distorted woods, but your feet remain firmly on the ground the whole time. Finally, you come to a fork in the road and man stands in the middle of it, looking confused about which way to go...
How will you proceed...?
You head back to...
and give back the book. You gain 25 exp., 10 gold, and a fully charged augmentation amulet.
"Oh, yeah, that happens sometimes. Thanks for getting it back."
