Part of a new habit of mine, this is a thread for the discussion of this world project. This includes, but is not limited to, discussion of storyline, of personal or coupled quests. This also includes mechanic questions and things of that nature. Please don't prod the mod, or complain about things not under your control, on this thread.
There is no theory behind my game. This isn't a scientific game. If you're looking for me to be looking up Jungian theory to find out, say, which specific archetype talks about dreams of infidelity, you won't be finding it. I like to give a background to my games to base them in a sort of reality, so you don't have to ask yourself "Why does this work?" However, that doesn't mean I conform to reality. I just give you something to base your imagination on.
Yeah, I've looked him up a little bit, during my Intro to Psychology class. He's interesting and all, and I like the theory. But in this case, it's just an excuse. Something to ground the game in, so you don't think it's -that- hokey.
Let me explain a bit more: Instead of using the collective unconscious as an excuse to have like images appear in many dreams, I'm only using it as a mechanic for the reason one person can enter another's dream. If we're all connected at a base level, all you have to do is put yourself at that said base level to be able to jump from dream to dream. Or, at least, in the universe Dreamlords is in.
It really has nothing to do with it. I was in the middle of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra when I started thinking of a few famous stories. Had to come up with a way of getting the player to take part in those stories. Then I thought that the stories could be dreams. Then after that, I decided on something like this. While I have played Assassin's Creed, I wasn't thinking about that at all.
Q. Nai hasn't responded to my threat in quite some time. Is he ignoring me? Or abandoning the WP or something?
A. Not at all. The voices in Nai's head take on the roles of characters in the WP. And, like any actors, they frequently ask for time off. Especially since they aren't being paid. Nai has to take some time off every so often so they don't drive him insane. Don't worry, fixes are in place so this will get better after people have gone on their first or second dive.
For those who want to join and haven't yet, I must apologize. I have to close registration for the time being, as 12 active participants seems to be my limit at this point. Rest assured, it will be open again soon.
No need to apoligize. I'm sure 3everyone here has been engrossed by a new idea and got over-zealous about it. At the very least you gave us a juicy piece of RP to mull over while we wait
Probably. It was always my intention to let other people run their own quests as soon as they'd completed the first one. I'll have Lesurgo handle that.

Hell this whole thing reminds me of the game. Coincidence?
Probably not.
