The time has come for me and I have decided to quit Magic and consequently leave the forums. I am currently in the process of selling my collection and once I get that sorted out I will be done with the game forever. It has been a difficult decision because all of the things I learned and people I met through the game. I never could have imagined starting this game four years ago as a 12 year old kid that I would have taken it so far and enjoyed it so much. In the end however it is the right decision for me to make. I just wanted to thank the Vintage community and the Magic community overall and say goodbye.
You sure you can get out of the game forever? It can suck you back in. If you have expensive cards, you might want to hold onto them in case you are ever strapped for cash later on...you just need to keep up with what is going on in magic, not necessarily playing it.
Also, how are you planning on unloading the cards? complete sets? singles? decks? bulk lot? I am sure if you ask around here you can find people willing to buy off you, just need to find the right people.

Sad to see you go since i really enjoyed your vintage articles. have a good life man.
Wow...I must say given your recent Vintage articles, and the stuff I saw over at TMD, this apparent 180 seems rather...sudden.
Oh well...I know how it goes. I've been kicking around the idea of selling off a massive part of my own collection.
But I'm keeping the good stuff (decks) definitely. I would definitely recommend doing the same, for the reasons already mentioned. Most folks get back into it at some point years later from what I've seen.
Sorry to see you move on, but I admire your resolution and hope you have found something very positive and rewarding to fill its place. We will miss you.
I'll chime in with the rest and hope you have considered hanging on to one favorite deck, just in case. Someday, years from now, you may have need of it.
I may not know you very well, but being that I just recently quit the game I know how it feels. It's just a shame you are leaving the forums, because I have found there is more then just Magic around here. I sincerely wish you good luck in your future endeavors!
I just realized. Mycoloth perfectly demonstrates the devour mechanic.
Mycoloth: NOMNOMNOM on Dragon Fodder.
One turn later, 1/1 turds come out.

Very sorry to see you go but I definately admire the strength of your decision. Do keep a couple decks though, or at least some key components. I think that you will find yourself back sometime in the future. I quite for almost 5 years and am back, and cashing out again!
I have to agree with the other posters on this thread. I left magic after collecting for two years from age 14 to 16. I really had no interest in it. Then all of a sudden a few friends at camp wanted to play. (I have worked at a boy scout camp for 12 years). I had my parents send my cards up and I had a blast. I am 28 now and magic is definately a part of my life. I don't think I will ever out grow the game. I plan on passing my stuff on to my kids or saving the good cards for retirement money.(that is if magic is still around in like 37 years.) The simple point, you never really appreciate the things you have until they are gone. I guess that has a meaning for the MTG salvation community as well. Good luck in all you do.
It’s been real Magic The Gathering.
