I myself have lost 55 lbs. Weight loss/Weight gain are determined 100% by calories in vs calories out.
Calories come from:
-Protein, 4 calories per gram
-Carbohydrates, 4 calories per gram
-Fat, 9 calories per gram
If you dont know where to start, download the app "my fitness pal," which will provide you with a calorie goal estimate based on your goals (gain/lose weight, at what rate), based off of stats and activity level.
If you are interested in nutrition then check out the nutrition section at bodybuilding.com (pay special attention to posts by users such as JasonDB and alan aragon, or any other 3,000 or higher "rep power" poster).
Remember that it takes time. You can easily lose 1-2 lbs a week, which doesnt sound like much, but thats 48-96 lbs in a year.
You can lose and gain weight purely by paying attention to calorie intake, and exercise is not required.
Lol I can go on and on. If anybody has any questions feel free to ask. If you decide to change your eating habits I suggest you use bodybuilding.com as your main resource.

Believe in yourself, people.
When in doubt, call a judge.
Objectivist here. Hit me up to talk philosophy.
