All of them are alive in the current modern world at an age with the top of their abilities. A misterious letter arrives to their place, that only says:
"You gotta find who else received a copy of this letter and then come and tell me. If any other of the participants do it first, you will die."
And that's all. I have to add that the threat is true: somehow (irrelevant to the plot) all of them will die, except for the winner.
---
Who of the participants will be the first one to solve the mistery?
I have never heard of Jimmy Kudo, but here is my analysis anyways.
L wins.
Sherlock Holmes is good, but he really can only figure things out by going around asking people stuff. Gathering information the old fashion way. This would make him a pretty obvious candidate to the other contenders.
In my mind this really came down to either Bruce or L. I say L because Bruce is in the public eye. It really would not be hard for someone with a brain to figure out Bruce is Batman and from there you can probably guess Bruce would be a likely candidate.
Bruce has a lot of money at his disposal, but L is not well known. He is kind of a shadowy figure. You remember how long it took for Light to figure out L's name.
I am also pretty sure that L is at least as if not more intelligent than Bruce.
I find that Sherlock has a better ability to get information out of little data. He also has a more hands on approach, going out there himself while L is waiting for Watari to contact him.
Bruce Wayne isn't nearly on the same level. He just types on his computer and goes "According to the computer, [villain of the week] is blah blah blah, therefore he'll strike at [Location] tonight"
Don't know anything about Kudo

It is always easy to be tolerant and understanding...Until someone presents an opinion completely opposite to your own.
Most of these people tend too be of the "good" alignment, So I say they all figure out who did this find eachother and save the world.
as for who would find him first, I would say Batman (bruce) on the basiss that he likely already has a contingancy in place should this ever happen....

And don't try to tell me Bruce Wayne is also. :/
Jimmy Kudo is brilliant and innovative, but L is just... out there. He doesn't have a problem breaking out of acceptable realms to solve a case.
LOL
Sherlock Holmes isn't?
Is the letter handwritten? If so, Holmes takes it. He's a handwriting expert, with all the brilliance he needs to find the sender.
