Team Serious is going to start holding a Midwest Vintage tournament circuit starting in 2013. The tournaments will probably start after Gencon. What we need to hear from you leading up to these events is:
1) What state do you live in and what major city are you in closest proximity to?
2) What kind of prize support would attract you to a tournament two hours away from you?
3) What things are necessary in a venue for you?
4) How many proxies do you need to play what you want?
If you feel uncomfortable sharing your thoughts publicly, feel free to fill out the 6-question survey in this link: http://wuww.surveymonkey.com/s/VVGVTTD
We want to cater to the player base and their needs so please provide feedback. We're specifically looking to cater to WI, IL, IN, OH, MI and western PA for 2013-2014 but if things kick off strong, we may expand outside that region sooner.
2) top-heavy prize support involving power would be most enticing. duals/fetches/jaces/legacy staples could also make it worth it. store credit only if the store has an excellent and rich selection of singles and/or board games
3) being near food (esp pizza) is good for the short lunch breaks. clean bathroom. enough tablespace.

1) I live in Wisconsin, but I'm going to school in Illinois, near the Peoria area. Milwaukee/Chicago are the big cities nearby for me.
2) I would love to see a Win-A-Mox circuit show up, but any Power/Dual lands/legacy staples would be cool. Even store credit is fine, so long as your shop has some decent stuff in stock.
3) Bathrooms, food, enough tables. Also, if the place has clear signage and is easy to find, that's a plus.
4) I'd be open to anything really. I have seen events that allow 6-10 proxies, with the ability to "buy" up to 5 more spots for $1 each. Some tournaments that allow proxies give away door prizes to the highest finisher with a Proxy-less deck.
Midwest Vintage seems awesome, and I can't wait to see this all get off the ground.
Also, if you need judge help with networking, sanctioning events, or questions, I'd be happy to help. I'm currently trying to test for L2, and the chance to run a tournament like this would be really exciting.
Good luck!

My cube thread!
2) What kind of prize support would attract you to a tournament two hours away from you? Play sets of legacy staples
3) What things are necessary in a venue for you? Being near food and drinks. Appropriate venue size.
4) How many proxies do you need to play what you want? I've heard 15 Proxies is pretty standard with paying more money for more proxies.

Pieces of power, Decending into store credit/packs.
Clean Bathrooms, Nearby food. Enough space to sit and play without feeling like you're being smothered.
6 Proxies is fair. It's enough to fill in gaps and the majority of the expensive cards that you can't replace.
