I honestly don't think fatal push is as strong anymore in the meta since most things can be killed by bolt again, very rare to see death's shadows running around now.
Over the weekend, I played this list in the Worcester modern classic to a 7-2 finish and 19th place. I decided to run Bauble over Serum Visions and loved it. Being able to play a spell and an Angler on turn 2 was the difference in so many games, and I think 4 Baubles should be the standard going forward. I also chose to play Lingering Souls over Lilianas in the board and was quite happy with the decision. I battled Jund twice and it singlehandedly won some of the post board games.
The list felt great, and I'm happy to answer any questions about it or the tournament.
When you start using opt you notice a difference in play style, it feels more controlling while visions helps you setup your next steps. Baubles does an opt expression and enables push a lot more
I'm liking the baubles part to this deck now especially with serum visions, thought it would be a lot more air but it actually fills the deck well with going under and controlling the board still
mainly because GDS is the weakest tier 1 deck in an anti tron meta.
traverse DS survived the meta culling of the unbans because they mainboard abrupt decays while still playing the same DS strategy.
4 traverse to smooth out land draws (mitigate blood moon) and to tutor the win condition isn't too shabby either.
My impression of an anti-Tron meta is aggro and fast combo. How come GDS is not well positioned to fight those strategies? Also, there were only 3 lists running Blood Moon on the top 32, does that really explain the Traverse Shadow placement? What makes Abrupt Decay better positioned if it does not line up well against Jace or BBE?
I think people are scared of running grixis shadow cause it doesn't aggro out like its counterpart.
I don't bauble but it's essentially a scry one and then draw. You would want to use your fetches wisely when in doing so. From what I have seen people play, it feels like a lot more air than it should be.
I agree with you of how the meta is shifting we still have legs under us, and we are going to need to add bolts to our lists. Probably going to have to go under them.
If we use jace we need to add one more discard and probably go back to 7 searchable lands maybe even push it to 8. 2 Jace seem fine to me, probably going to have to shave the battle rages if everyone is going to try to be aggressive to get under jace. And bolts may be needed now and maindeck of one dreadbore also
the white splash in the sideboard makes it hard because you are really hoping to get the godless shrine in time to be able to cast it turn three or even so you have to be able to get it in the graveyard if you do not have the shrine out. I can see why its better than young peezy on certain match ups but young pyromancer is able to constantly create threats. Even though it does not stop the flying evasion so it depends on the meta and how people attack it to be honest.

How did it feel against the jace decks, and the jund lists.
