I know, I asked a mod previously so I'm avoiding the things that were less ok.
I believe any talk of specifically how to make proxies is not okay, and we don't want to get anywhere close to that. Plus, since the discussion is currently just between the two of you, why not take it to PM to make us all feel better?
Doing it proxiless might give it more value by having a (I'm having a hard time expressing myself in english ATM) story for how I acquired the cards (or just be, I bought it from this site :/)
Plus the budget restrictions will keep me farther from the common cube and will make mine unique to me.
There are many people that feel proxies in their own cube would ruin it for them, and it appears you are one. There is nothing wrong with that at all, just don't force that on anyone else.
Also, being able to use proxies, much like having an unlimited budget, doesn't stop you from doing whatever you want. If you are proxying up a 360 card cube you found on the internet and never deviating from that, then your problem is not access to proxies.
I know this probably has been discussed to death, but I haven't seen any recent threads on it, so...how do you guys classify certain hybrid or split cards on an "as played" basis?
There are a ton of different ways to categorize these cards. Some people put them where they are best. Some try to make individual judgements about whether to put them in gold, mono or artifact. Others have created a hybrid or "flexible" (or whatever you want to call it) section that contains cards such as these.
The question really is, do you want more or less of these types of cards? If you want more, creating an entire section for them, or blending them between mono and gold sections will probably work best. If you think they should compete in power level versus gold cards, then add them to your gold section (but you will probably end up with less of them).
Quick Winston question. If you are looking at the third pile, and there is one card left in the "draft pool", can you opt not to take the third pile and take that card, or do you basically have to take the card in third pile (because passing on it would leave zero cards in the the "draft pool" for you to take)?
Depends on the reason and how willing you are to throw yourself on the mercy of the court. Capsize? Well capsize was a shady characters with priors such as "being too slow". Upheaval though. He was a model citizen and a decorated war hero. You are going to need an air tight alibi.
Yes, but only if you target your opponent.
Paying the cost of a card happens before the effect, so once the card resolves, the Phoenix is already in the graveyard and can be brought back.
Cool. How does the timing work if the card worked as printed (discard:damage)? Do the cards not still get discarded, followed by the damage effect going on the stack?

Mods, feel free to chip in and tell me I'm wrong.

Good luck!

Basically.
"Blue aggro is lagging, so in my cube, all blue creatures cantrip!"
