We've acquired all of the publicly available CAH cards including the Bigger, Blacker Box. One of my gifts to my wife for Christmas this past year was the "10 Days of Kwanzaa or Whatever" that they did. Some of the stuff she got was pretty lame, but she did get three small card packs that included some funny stuff. It's the best game we have when we have friends over for drinking and gaming.
I was at an aquatic pet (fish, corals, shrimp, etc.) conference this weekend and I just kept thinking about how cool a cube conference would be. Someday when I'm rich, I'm going to do it.
Been playing some Vintage as of late. This recent quote from R&D is a little troublesome:
"We don’t put a lot of time and effort into testing those older formats...we have the banned list as a ‘catch-all’ for any problems that may arise."
-Aaron Forsythe
I actually am excited over that Aaron Forsythe comment, as cube is my favorite format and I hardly play constructed... so the more broken cards the better.
It's quite funny that Jeskai Ascendancy pairs so well with Treasure Cruise. It's not quite Batterskull + Stoneforge but it isn't far off.
They're really hitting this Smash Brothers out of the park. I'm not a current fan of Xenoblade but I'm interested. While I love Nintendo, sometimes I feel like they're so distant from their fans: They mean well but some of their choices could be so much better for everyone. I think they're coming around a bit more in the recent year than they have since the N64.
Some of the games mentioned here I enjoy quite a bit:
Dominion - Great game, but it kind of feels like playing storm when every draw you can run through your deck. I wish going through your entire deck in hand was a little more difficult to achieve tbh. Ascension - It's like Dominon meets MTG, short, sweet. I really liked the base game and how it played but I could see it being better with a few expansions as the cards are rather boring. Settlers of Catan - It's all about the drafting portion of the game where you lay out the two starting houses you get. Either way we come back to it quite often because it's simple enough that new players are in the swing of it on their first game but has some complexity to make it replayable -- plus the board changes a lot which is cool. It does have a lot of dice rolling which I dislike. Citadels - Awesome game. During each round there is a draft portion where one pack of "roles" are passed around, once everyone picks then each role is called out in order (each role card is associated with a numerical value). During your turn you may use your "role" action plus your regular turn. The game feels original but not clunky.
Does it turn off and constantly reset itself? If so yes just disable the lockout chip. It is really easy to do, you just need a philips screwdriver and something like a safteypin. While you are in there you can clean your contacts also. Replacing the pin connector cost me $8. It's easy to do and I have no experience in these kinds of things.
Sweet! I always wanted to fix up my old consoles that don't work, and have some experience in hardware (did I mention I'm lucky enough to be working on satellites at my school?, they're called CubeSats too haha).

If you loved Super Metroid then definitely try out Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission, they're fantastic.

He moved and asked for it back though, makes me sad every time I see my Underground Sea proxy in my cube now.

Keeping Jace I presume?
Been jamming through Earthbound on Virtual Console.
I was xfollowthereaperx but I changed my name to my real name: NathanZimmerer. Hope I don't confuse everyone.
Nice, I have 3 quarters left of undergrad, hoping to get into my school's Master's program.
