Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.
Have you ever thought of using Raking Canopy for anti-flying, as well as using champion's helm for a token power toughness boost and hexproofing rhys?
just a couple of thoughts
Raking Canopy is usually too weak to take the flyers that are more likely to appear in EDH. In my experience, flying dudes that are must-answer are usually 5 toughness+.
I'd sooner use Swiftfoot Boots over Champion's Helm for the fact that it grants haste, is cheaper, and can protect our non-legends as well.

I really like Rhys due to his mana cost. Is there even another guy that you can cast for one mana?! It's so awesome!
I'm not a fan of combo deck either. Swarming is much more style.
I have a foil Rhys as well so I think it's decided. The only problem is that I love the GW combination so much that there will probably be a lot of overlap between other decks. But what can you do.
One other question, I know you like your turn 3 play to be "make token with Rhys", but how about his second ability? Do you find yourself using it a lot? (I hope you do!!)

I have played each one before (though not very much) and feel as though Rith kind of lends herself to a goodstuff token deck, Ghave lends himself to combo, and Rhys is more of a versatile little guy somewhere in between.
So far, I'm tempted to go with Rhys but I'd like to hear suggestions on the matter.

This may be an odd suggestion but Gaddock Teeg seems like it could do well for you. It's easily recurred and functions as a way of saving your tokens from sweepers until he is dealt with. At worst, he draws removal away from your other threats. At best, he buys you the time you need to overrun. You've probably already considered him at some point but I'd just like to give the card my +1.
@ilcapo: Agreed about the price. I got mine for around $5 probably over 3-4 years ago haha. Don't really have a home for it either, unless I decide to take on Rhys as a side project

I've thought about it. Enchantress's Presence is pretty clearly the best option. I'd say that for the card to be worth it I would need to draw at least 3 cards off it before it was removed. That seems at least reasonable but I can imagine drawing it later in the game and being pretty poor as well. We've already got Fecundity as an enchantment that draws cards and it does a fantastic job so I can't see tutor up Enchantress's Presence over it very often. It may still be good enough but to me it looks more cute than powerful.
That's reasonable.
I notice that you're not playing Serra's Sanctum in your list. I believe it would be quite amazing in the list, allowing you to generate even more ridiculous amounts of mana alongside Cradle. Because enchants usually stick around longer than creature, it may be even more reliable than Cradle (though definitely not as explosive).
I just think you should capitalize on the intense amount of enchantments you're running in the list. And Sanctum is a great way of doing that.

Have you guys ever thought of implementing some kind of enchantress theme into the deck? You run an ungodly amount of those enchantment things and the CA provided by enchantress's might actually be beneficial. Plus, I just love the package.

Yes, I understand that it's a cool interaction, but it just seems so out of place in a Rhys token deck to me. It really shines in a Captain Sisay deck, where you can tutor for both pieces, but here it just seems out of place. I would get rid of them and make room for cards that better your theme.
Also, have you considered Mosswort Bridge? Or do you find that you usually do not have enough power on the field to warrant it?

I've always loved tokens and am thinking of making a token deck, so I was wondering what you fellow token-lovers thought about the choice between Rith, the Awakener, Ghave, Guru of Spores, and of course, Rhys the Redeemed.

Edit: Then again, you don't really have many green token generators. And how is Perilous Forays working out for you?
