Honestly I'm not a fan of Probe. I'd rather run more counter/burn/bounce spells over it. Personal preference I guess. Btw has anyone tried out Blade Splicer? I'm thinking of a 2-2 split between Splicer and Geist, since there's a lot of BGx Rock at the local meta and in general.
Then why would you play this deck over WUR Midrange? Going big really isn't the answer. It just makes us a worse WUR Midrange, especially without even running Gitaxian Probe for the Young Pyromancers.
Young Pyromancer is 1 mana cheaper than Monastery Mentor, which also sees play in Modern. Esper Mentor recently won a decent size tournament in Japan. And that deck didn't run Gix Probes either. Young Pyromancer can work without Gix Probe. I'll add 2 Geists back in place of Restoration Angel. However, Young Pyromancer is playable in Modern with or without Gix Probe. http://www.mtgtop8.com/event?e=9179&d=252730&f=MO
What do people think about cutting Geist for Clique and Restoration Angel? There's a lot of BGx Rock running around so Geist is kinda bad. This is what I'm thinking.
Meh, I think 20 is all right. Ideally, you want to get to at least 4 lands to be able to cast multiple spells or to flash in Snapcaster to cast a flashbacked Remand or Helix. Also, check out this guy's list. He is running Aether Vials in his list which allows him to flash in Snapcaster for 1 mana as well as Young Pyromancer or Monastery Mentor on the opponent's turn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gb2q5R8i_20
Though his sideboard choices and manabase is questionable.
I keep going back and forth between Spreading Seas and Molten Rain. Molten Rain might be better for midrange decks since it's also a way to slow them down in addition to mana screw.
Has anyone sided in Kor Firewalker against Grixis Delver? It seems decent against a deck where the main creature removal are Lightning Bolt or Terminate, or they have to waste a Murderous Cut and Tasigur food for it.
Nah, ive played Grixis it's a REALLY different deck. 4 probes and 3-4 scours are huge. Tasigur is a very different threat from geist. you can make a similiar list but my version atleast is really different.
EDIT : some UWR lists are similiar, but mine is very different, I think it's the better young pyromancer deck, but I think we're the better delver deck.
Played a few matches with Gul_Dukat tonight on Cockatrice with my RUG Delver list and never dropped a match. Not sure how we can claim that UWR is the better Delver deck if it's just not putting up results. Is anyone in this thread putting up results? I admittedly just dabble here; don't think I could leave my Goyfs alone, and not having pressure until turn 3 a lot of the time really doesn't sit right with me. I know I've been doing well with RUG at local events like PPTQs, and the Grixis lists have been showing numbers at bigger tournaments like SCG IQs. Not putting anyone or anything down here, just wondering if there have been any statistical developments for the Geist deck.
Also: many Grixis Delver lists abandoned Young Pyromancer since he's worse than a Zombie Fish most of the time.
Until Zendikar fetches get reprinted and I get some Scalding Tarns and Arid Mesas, all my games with WUR Delver are just kitchen table and playtesting.
I like Vapor Snag over Valorous Stance. It is 1 mana cheaper which is a big deal in Modern. It also buys you more time the opponent has to recast it and wait another turn for it to attack. Lastly, it serves as reach in addition to Bolt and Helix.
Before you throwing in the towel, try this 75. A couple of changes, Vapor Snag over Valorous Stance and Jotun Grunt over Vendilion Clique. Also, added a 1-of Isochron Sceptor and Izzet Staticaster in the sideboard.
The problem with Blood Moon against GR Tron is that while it shuts off their acceleration strategy, it doesn't have much of an effect in terms of color screwing them. First, the only cards in the maindeck that can't be cast off of Red mana are Ancient Stirrings and Sylvan Scrying. Second, they have Chromatics to give them the Green mana they need for those cards. So it slows Tron down, but they can still cast Wurmcoil Engine or Karn Liberated off of 6 or 7 lands, and of course Oblivion Stone will take out Blood Moon with just 5 lands.
If the Blood Moon is accompanied by pressure, then Tron can be in trouble. Of course, if that pressure is in the form of creatures, then you've just made Pyroclasm (and Firespout, if you aren't using flying creatures) all the more easy to cast. I remember recently playing a game against UR Delver/Pyromancer, and their Blood Moon actually gave me the Red mana I needed to cast Pyroclasm and wipe their board.
There's always one or two random people playing Tron at our LGS.
Out of how many people?
For weekend Modern events, from 10 to upwards of 50. But the Molten Rains also serve the purpose of slowing down BGx Rock and Abzan Liege to kill them.

This guy plays WUR Geist and sided in Kor Firewalker against Grixis Delver. It gained him so much life and allowed him to chump block Young Pyromancer's tokens.
