I'm actually 2-0 in matches against combo. Post board, we end up with 7 counters, AND 2 Thalia. Not to mention a clock that's almost as quick as theirs.
Here's my response to the New Lingering Souls Jund lists:
Originally, I'd try and grind away at them, using Lingering Souls and Moorland Haunt to really push ahead, once we both beat ourselves down to nothing. My new approach is "**** that" Now that they play their own Lingering Souls AND Deathright Shamans, our best bet is to just kill them before they turn turn their massive card advantage into a win.
I almost want to cut all the counters out of the maindeck, they're just so bad against the best decks in the format. Anyone else feel this way? I've already cut a leak from my list and kind of just want to cut the other 2, leaving 3 counters and 2 thalias in my board, along with 1 pierce and izzet charm in the main for combo.
I also added a watery grave as the 22nd land and 1 maindeck plus 1 sb lingering souls...it's been pretty solid even though the stupid watery grave just trolls by awlays being in my opening hand
I am one of those people who have been using Volcanic Fallout instead of Pyroclasm (mainly cause I was too lazy to buy some copies of it xD) and I'm not totally sold on Volcanic, and considering finally sleeving up some 'clasms
Main reasons?
-3 mana instead of 2, surprisingly relevant in a mana tight deck like delver
-Double RR is sometimes a pain in the ass
-The 2 extra damage has sometimes really screwed me up by not letting me cast it for a game winning sweep because I was at 1 life -_- Remember that Delver lives in the edge always.
-Uncounterability only relevant in mirrors and maaaaybe UW control against Geist.
So I think Pyroclasm may be actually better most of the time, hmmmm!
You're completely correct. I've never had a pyroclasm countered, and i doubt i ever will.
Pyroclasm is a "get out now" style card for WUR. It will hit your stuff too but in the mirror or against tokens for example will hit a lot harder. Plus with lynx he can survive (after fetching)
Just playing a land allows your Lynx to live. If you have an early Delver that flips, then just don't play pyroclasm because you're going to win, and if you have an early lynx, it just lives through it. Pyroclasm is definitely a card you NEED to have right now.
Nice job, just saw your list on the wizards page. What was Sudden Shock for?
It was for getting Arcbound Ravagers, and for the Infect deck. I probably would like to play a 2nd somewhere, since it's been pretty good. It's also fine in the mirror, as a decent way to kill a delver.
I've been grinding a lot, and my record is somewhere around 11 and 4. The list is really solid. I've been having problems with the mono white deck and mono red, but I knew I was giving up the mono red MU when I cut the Kor Firewalkers.
Sideboard:
2 Celestial Purge
2 Deprive
1 Molten Rain
1 Negate
2 Pyroclasm
2 Smash to Smithereens
2 Sowing Salt
1 Sudden Shock
2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
Overall, I'm not sure if Mana Leak or Remand is better; I've been testing both. This was the 1st time I've played pyroclasm, and it was awesome, as was Moorland Haunt.

I'm 4-0 in 2mans so far. Any thoughts?
It's just frustrating that I figured out how to beat Jund (my own lingering souls) then they go and play there own, and I lost the only edge I had.
