The aura swap deck already exists, but I believe without bogles (I saw it once). It swaps the Arcanum Wings with Eldrazi Conscription, totally ruining your opponent.^^
I guess. I'd still go at least 3-3 even with your logic. Also I seriously doubt you "always" side them out first. Vs delver? Vs esper board wipes? Vs stormbreath ponza? Doubt it.
You are right. I don't side them out against Delver, but the last time I saw that deck in my area was 2 years ago, the other two I never ever saw. Our Meta consists mostly of Burn, Dredge and Combo-Decks.
I almost never needed the reach ability. If we would play more auras with vigilance in the deck, I would agree, but as is, first strike is more relevant. In fact, the spider umbras are always the first thing I take out while boarding.
If the Cartouche of Strength would cost 2 mana instead of 3 I would slam dunk them into my Deck. As is, it's really hard. I mean it can be: "Cast this, fight your Spellskite to death, attack with trample." But it could also be worse. Maybe as a one-of?
Likewise, I have had some tough luck with Infect, so I would also ask others' experiences and compare them. That deck always seems to beat me on turn 3.
I just tried Unflinching courage again and I will cut it again. Was a dead card in my hand everytime I got it. I always only had two mana, except once, where I didn't need the courage and won anyway. I guess it will be another copy of Gryff's boon or Spirit Mantle, now.
Also against Chalice of the void I had a game with a chalice on 1. I play Kor spiritdancer and Gryff's Boon to draw a card. Next turn I brought Gryffs Boon back from the graveyard and made a big Spiritdancer. I lost that game anyway, because of valakuts, scapeshift and another Chalice on 2 later, but I think it was fun to see the face of my opponent, when I brought the boon back.
I played Bogles yesterday at a tournament and went 3-2, but only because of one buy and a good opp-score I cam into TOP8. I lost the first TOP8-Match against Eldrazi, but I realized something during the tournament. The Horizon canopy you play, the worse gets Open the Armory. You don't have enough mana for it, if you always crack your Canopies.
For actual content: I think Gryff's Boon and Open the Armory are probably pretty solid, at least enough to test. My playgroup's bogles player swears that OTA for Coronet/Spirit Link/Spirit Mantle wins games that were otherwise unwinnable quite frequently.
I agree. I won a lot of games with OTA + Gryff's Boon and flying over the enemy army, thus sealing the game. Alternatively you can search for a totem aura, if you only have Daybreak Coronets in hand. Open the armory is just a great card.
Funny story: A very good player at my FNM told me "I'm not sure, OTA is really that good. It may be too slow." Same evening my Gryff's Boon Bogle punched him in the face, winning me a game I would've lost without OTA. He accepted this card afterwards.
I'm curious what others' experience/utility has been with Dryad Arbor? How is it used most effectively? And Silhana Ledgewalker and Gaddock Teeg - what are their roles here? Also, considering cutting (or side'ing out) Suppression Field as I'm not sure it's really found a home in the dozen or so matches I've played so far - could be new pilot syndrome as well. Ghostly Prison perhaps? What about Vryn Wingmare
So happy to have this community to bounce ideas share in the discussion with... and excited to build this deck out further.
Dryad Arbor is there to fetch it, if someone lets you sac a creature, like with Liliana of the Veil. I also fetched it last friday, against enchantment control, after it played a Runed Halo against Spiritdancer and Bogle. Silhana Ledgewalker is indeed questionable, and although there are arguments for it, there are many people (including me), who play a fourth Spiritdancer instead. Gaddock Teeg is a great card against stuff like Tron or Scapeshift, etc. Suppression Field I'm not really convinced of, but there are people who love to play it. I think, it depends on your meta. Ghostly Prison isn't that good in this deck. Put Aura in your deck instead Spirit Link perhaps or more Spirit Mantle. Vryn Wingmare is exactly what you don't want in your deck. Bogles is a deck that wants three or four lands at best and cast a lot of auras. To make the auras more expensive does more damage to you, than to your opponent.

Same here. But at least I seldom meet Infect.
