Hanabi Blast changes zone during its resolution. Thus, if you wind up discarding the Blast to itself after recasting it via Toshiro, it will not be RFGed because it isn't considered to be the same card any more. The practical upshot of this is that with a Hanabi Blast and no other cards in your hand, whenever a creature dies you can kill as many */1 and */2 creatures as times you can pay 1RR.
right it is good with toshiro, but i thot he was referring it to a sense not involving toshiro.
Uhm, you are in fact, sadly mistaken, go reread the rules.
Spells are put into the graveyard once the spell is completely done resolving. So if you're opponent has more life, the pulse comes back. The same goes for Hanabi Blast, which my friend and I decided was pretty ridiculous.
yes, i realized this before you made your post, thx for ur effort. no rereading the rules necessary... :tongue2:
thot just popped up: how does hanabi blast suddenly become ridiculous? doesnt it read "~ deals 2 damage to target creature or player. Then return ~ to owner's hand and discard a card at random"? this is an entirely different case and because it has nothing to do with graveyard placement effects it will still itself be involved in the discard (making it not broken).
well, this is one i am pretty sure returning pulse does work. i was originally thinking that a spell went to the graveyard BEFORE resolution, but this doesn't make sense for permanents on the stack. so, im pretty sure that pulse does indeed return now. i spose if it were to go the the grave before returning it would say something about it on the card (i.e. "Return Pulse of the Forge from your graveyard to your hand").

*takes a stack break*
