I would like to encourage everyone reading this thread that despite people easily finding this Duel Deck at mass-market stores less than a week after its release, the next one is going to be impossible to find so you should probably set aside fifty dollars right now to preorder whatever it turns out to be.
That's really silly, you have no idea what it'll be. For what you know, they could make a Hellcarver Demon Vs. Sphinx Ambassador duel deck. And I doubt that'd sell well at all. Yes, it's unlikely to be something like it, but that's the point: You don't know.
debating buying the rest of the ones at walmart here. 19.98 each. full display case minus the one i bought yesterday.
So... You're thinking on hogging, speculating and creating a fake shortage of the duel decks just to get some easy money on your end? Definitely the morally right thing to do.
The price will most likely go back up. Once the Duel Decks run out (it's a limited print after all) they will be harder to find and people who will want them will be willing to pay the ridiculous prices thus why JvC is now $80. You obviously did not think that you would be able to buy Elspeth at a store in one of the decks for $25 then sell the single card for $30 the SAME DAY did you? Who would pay $30 for Elspeth when they can get her and the all the other cards for that price? It makes no sense. You will have to wait a little before striking any profit off this deal. Once they can no longer purchase the duel decks so cheaply, Elspeth will go back up. Sheesh.
Except that a NM chandra from JvC is worth about $5, and a NM Jace about $8. So really they can't be the reason JvC is so expensive today. It is expensive simply because it's been out of print for long, not because Jace and Chandra are worth huge amounts of money.
I just bought 3 of them for newbury comics at 19.99. I went at 230 and they didnt come in yet called at 9pm he said they got 4 left. I scooped up 3 of the 4 and the guy said wow these are all sold out in the first 5 hours. I told him it was just too good of a deal for people to pass up. Anyone who plays magic should get these theres to much in here not to get it. I have a feeling these are going to be hard to find
They're not going to be hard to find because they're "too good", but because of people hogging them like that...
Probably because they're not allowed to sell SEALED product outside US. Once its open, it becomes used product, regardless of whether it was used or not, and then the limitation wizards imposed doesn't apply.
Does anyone know whether or not it's actually ok for StarCity to sell the decks pre-opened internationally? I would think that Wizards would be having a hissy-fit, since it's basically sealed product. It seems like a very blatant violation of that policy.
As a customer, that's really not something that should concern you. If it's not OK, wizards will eventually find out and either stop distributing to them or sue them for breaching the retail contract (most likely both). It won't really affect customers, except that if it happens they'll have to buy from somewhere else.
We sold more EvT-decks during the presale than from any of the previous Duel Decks total. And it's still more than two weeks until the release.
So I think at least here in Europe the demand is very high. I don't expect shortages for the english product in Europe. Don't know about French, German and the other languages and the availability of english product in the US though.
Now that's the kind of statement I like, sustained ones rather than rumours
Hrmm, I honestly doubt that Elspeth will drop below $15 even after rotation, and I doubt Tezz will drop below $5, putting just the planeswalkers at a value of $20 even after rotation. With the MSRP being $20, and there likely being a MUCH higher demand for this than any previous DD's (like 10x the demand), I doubt these are going to last long anywhere that has them available for msrp. If you can get them for msrp, then more power to you, but just dont wait too long after release day to get them. Consider as well that the older formats that use them both (legacy/vintage) are typically much more interested in the foil versions, which is of course also something to consider.
How can you actually know that the demand for this will be much higher than for any of the previous ones, though? Hype can make the demand of something seem huge, and then have it sell poorly.
Also excepting to pay MSRP for this is like excepting to pay MSRP for FTV(and disliking walmart basically means you have no understanding for how economics work in in America, their store is just better then most get over it. I run a LGS and I don't hate them you just need to learn how to compete.)
I paid MSRP for Phyrexia Vs. The Coalition, which had the last few phyrexian negators ever printed. I also paid near-MSRP for Garruk Vs. Liliana ($29.99 just a week ago, which is a good deal considering its been out for a while and becoming rare). I can't think of any reasons why I'd have to pay more than MSRP for this on release.
I am happy to post the website, but I'm just getting started really on this site, so I'm not sure if that's allowed. Perhaps a vet or mod can advise...?
AFAIK, its not illegal to post links to stores. I've done it, when people request specific stuff that isn't easily found (like foreign packs) with no problems. I believe only problem would be if you started spamming links to a store, in which case you could be seen as spamming advertisement to said store, but that would be extreme cases. I often speak of internet retailer I use the most (TrollAndToad, am actually waiting for them to put the duel deck for sale), and I've never been warned or even looked down upon because of that.
I can't see any reason why the print run on this would be any lower than on Phyrexia Vs. The Coalition (Which had what will be the last phyrexian negators ever printed), and I can still find that at MSRP. I also got just last week a Garruk Vs. Liliana (Arguably just as collectible as Elspeth Vs Tezzeret, maybe even more, since GVsL's foils are actually playable on standard nowadays) for $29.99, and I recall having seen them for their MSRP just a month or two ago.
Duel decks do and will indeed up their prices in time, since they're highly collectible items, but in general the supply should be just enough to allow everyone who wants one to get it at regular prices during at least 3-6 months or so. Afterwards, they'll slowly start going up, probably until they reach a price like Elves Vs Goblins's actual price (which is $70-80), which won't happen until they're long out of print.

Where do I get it fixed? It's the second time that happens this week

They're mass produced, so most retailers will sure be getting new shipments.
That FTV:R is going to be pretty hard to get :\ Its not easy today, can't picture it being any easier in a month.
Actually, its already been confirmed as mono white, and its abilities/mana cost spoiled

They also are rotating out soon, so I'd think many standard junkies won't care too much.
