Glistener Elf is going to make waves, just you wait. It is basically a 2/1 for G with no drawback. When have we seen such power in recent sets? It's madness, I tell you, madness! Honestly, start investing in this guy, he'll be worth his weight in gold as soon as people catch on. You've be wise to follow that small bit of advice. Either way, I'll be cashing in once the time of "The Glistener" comes around. Just you wait, sir, just you wait.
What would you rather do with a deck like that, play the 1/1 infector for G, or play some kind of mana card to be able to play a much stronger 3CMC infector on turn 2?
I imagine in practice you would have both capabilities because 4 1 drops isn't enough in an aggressive deck, but I'm curious what you would regard as the superior play.
If the answer is the mana acceleration, I'd say that that doesn't bode all that well for that infector for G.
So you're saying its Glistened or Lanwar? I prefer Glistener Elf because it can attack on turn 2, which is what the deck wants to do. If you can kill turn 2, your opponent has less answers than turn 3.
Honestly, I expect to see at least once:
"I attack with (Insert 2 relevant creatures here.)"
"Okay, I block with my Greenhilt Trainees, Mutagenic Growth one, tap it for it's effect on the other, tap the other, to pump the first, you now have a 6/7 and an 8/9 blocker to contend with. Have fun!"
Or would timing not allow that?
Opponent Attacks
You Declare Trainees as Blockers
Before Damage step you cast Growth
After Growth resolves you target the Trainees with each others ability.
Damage Calculation takes place.
Your opponent's relevant creatures are dead.
Yes, I believe its a legal move.
Am I the only one who is bothered by Whipflare?
It's Mirrian affiliated, yet the flavour text says it is a spell derived by the Phyrexians to get rid of Mirrians.
For the record, the art of what we believed was Darksteel Plat. Angel was released alongside the New Phyrexia art that also didn't make it as a card. So we could assume that the Angel was not going to be a creature. Besides, we all kinda knew Mirrodin Pure was a hoax.
the phyrexian ingester dies to so much removal that i would have hated to use all that mana on it but in reality the worst situation(aside from pure cancel) is that you removed a beater/win-con on their side of the field.
Unless Ingester is countered, your opponent loses one creature forever and you gain a huge fattie that will more often than not demand an answer. If Ingester eats their Titan/Praetor and then a doom blade/go for the throat. I'll be perfectly happy.
Anyone else ridiculously excited by Phyrexian Ingester?
The thing is card advantage on a body. Removal + Body? Hell, yes!
I don't people are getting that part about Imprint, these guys can basically serve as 2 for one, plus bonus! The only down side is the cost, but then again you'll end up with a massive creature more often than not. Definitely a contender is Titans are not reprinted. Even then it has potential. Again: unless this thing gets countered, you get to exile one of your opponents creatures; that is unconditional removal in Blue.
I have better things to do with my time than troll, but I was appalled when the full spoiler went up. I was impressed with the initial spoiler when it was at 40-some cards. I was looking forward to seeing the other cards (especially rares/mythics) and then when they were spoiled and I realized how bad they were (in my opinion) I looked at the forum and laughed when I saw people were impressed saying it was "maybe the best set since ravnica" and similar things. I thought maybe more people would be concerned with playability and not just flavor...
Dude... please take a minute, or two, to remove the stick up your ***.

No, duh! Was my sarcasm really so bad misconstrued that no one got it?
I know right? Its bonkers, as in scoop if played against you t1. Crazyness! Jace, move over, Glistener is here to take over the meta.

i don't think its bonkers...but i do think i'll stick it in many decks. Go for the throat is doomed.
Oh, oh, spaghetti-ohs!
Lol, with top-decks like that I have no chance/ *scoops* GG
I play another Ingester and eat your Urabrask. Now you're 4 cards short.
No, I don't want it to happen, but trading 1 card for 2 puts me in a better position.
