True. What would be funny is if they said "actually we were going to roll out the entire set as we did it all along... it just so happened that the spoilers beat us by a week."
Which, seeing how they usually send in articles a week or two in advance... wouldn't shock me if that WAS their plan all along.
Some of US don't like slow rolls, but for folks who avoid this site and other spoiler sites... they do it because THEY DON'T.
Not every MTG player with an internet connection obsesses over spoilers. Some like having the element of surprise when they crack packs. I think we've all sat across from someone at our sealed pool who has that look of pure cluelessness when they open their packs. This person did not look at the spoilers.
Frankly I think it's their way to see if those folks who only follow leaks by the mothership react. Who knows, maybe if it's positive, then they will start doing this every set. Chances are though, those audience members will react negatively. They like slow rolls, and don't nessessarily want all the surprises given before they crack packs.
I think many people who pride themselves on following spoilers think it'll give them an advantage at pre-releases... this gives the "casual" players an even leg.
To be fair though... Red really is a very one dimensional color... I mean there is only so many "instant do 2 dammage to target whatever" and "6/1 haste" varients you can have. Yes, they have some very fun controlly cards that see Timmy play... but really it seems like a good red card these days is just a version of another card that just has a lower cost.
I haven't read through the entire thread but...if this is real, and it does look real, would this be the worst leak since Judgement? (I think it was judgement that had the whole set spoiled months before pre-release.)
No not really... I'd say the Guildpact one was bad... When Scrye leaked the whole set a month early by accident. At least I think that was GP... But it was more recent and was very much controllable.
Torpor Orb is going to be a really strong card in all formats... I'm actually a little nervous about it and I'm not even playing in regular tournaments...
But it wouldn't be a shock if they were going to use this set as the "beat the spoilers to the punch" season... and then this happens. Oh man...

It happened two days ago when the entire set was leaked... it took them this long to update the main spoiler.
WOTC does NOT comment on leaks, not matter how drastic. If they do, it's months/years afterward.

Sure it's not as "fun," but leaks like this really take the wind of the sails of people when it all happens at once.
