TL;DR version - Innistrad with a huge civil war - Thalia and Lilly are allies - own Gavony and Nephalia vs. Kessig and Stensia
Now we turn to Innistrad, where ever since the restoration of Avacyn, things have gone pretty haywire. Sorin's goal in creating Avacyn was to achieve a sense of balance on the plane, to ensure that every human wasn't just a collection of flesh and bone waiting to be eaten in the midnight hour. But this has gone too far... The Wolfir, tamed by the humans and used as allies against their enemies, have now been almost exterminated by them as they may be a potential threat. The vampires of the proud line of Stromkirk and those inhabiting Stensia have faced nearly the same fate. But that's not all. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The humans that have taken power, blind in their desire to rule with an iron fist have undone the one that made their rise possible. Seeing her as a political threat, Queen Thalia tricked Avacyn and with the help of Liliana, created a weird portal and Avacyn got eaten by Ulamog. Not one to be in debt, Liliana successfully disposed of Griselbrand by throwing him Into the Maw of Hell.
This unholy alliance now threatens to consume the entire plane. Liliana and Thalia, with the province of Gavony as their stronghold, have conquered Nephalia and used the creators of the Skaab legions to enhance their power. In this desperate hour, the humans and few werewolves and vampires remaining have rallied together in Stensia and Kessig in an attempt to ovethrow Thalia and restore balance the Innistrad. The Skirsdag cult is now the leading religious force in this lands, and serves as a tie bringing these creatures together. Lambholt champions now join their arms with the beasts they once hunted. Once abandoned, Hollowhenge is now perhaps the safest place to hide from Thalia and Liliana's tyranny.

Taking the themes of Arabian Nights we see a cohesive story emerge as the Cities of Brass become the only shining beacons of hope amongst those of the desert.
