Hi. Thanks for streaming. I followed you. I was just wondering if you were on the same configuration you posted a few days back. Also have you faced tron? How did it go? I only own 1 EE so I was thinking of upping to 3 Blood Moon in the side. I really want to beat tron and eldrazi. Also how is the matchup against jund without revelers?
Probably not. We need to keep the fetch count up be able to play with Blood Moon, Hooting Mandrills and Traverse, and I honestly can't think of a land card that is cut-able in the deck as each serves a very important role and we are running the minimum amount of them already.
I`m about to start testing the following setup:
It`s simply a Spirebluff Canal over the second Steam Vents. I`ll see if I ever miss fetching for that second Vents, or if it works out well - I can only see it being a problem for double red post board with Reveler (probably not, as there should be another red land to fetch), or tapped as the fourth land when I want to cast Reveler (this might suck bad). I`ll let you know what I think after testing and report back.
I really think that this single one is the absolute maximum number of fastlands we can run in a 17 land setup. We`re definitely not cutting any basics or fetches, and we obviously need one of each shock, so I think it`s just that one slot.
I think it could be very relevant if you thought scour away your only steam vents.
Hi. Thank you so much for the sideboard guide. All of the choices make sense.
I only have one question and that is about Infect.
I feel that Denial is great against them, and not just combined with the monkey. Good players may play around it if they know about it, but there's also a lot of really bad infect players out there who won't. Also, if you take out 6-7 blue cards in this matchup you severely weaken your disrupting shoals.
Further, I don't feel that the slower card advantage engine is warranted against a deck that can win on turn 2 or 3. I think that Spot removal and timely counters should be enough.
I am also skeptical of blood moon, but not as much as traverse/reveler. Yes it wrecks their inkmoths and turns off their counters, but it also turns on their Nature's Claims. I'd much rather have the 1-2 revelries which not only hit their manlands but spellskite and wild defiance as well.
Just my two cents. I know you guys have put a ton of time into this deck, so I am anxious to hear your counterpoint.
3-0 With the list from the latest article. 2-0 Infect twice and 2-1 against a combo brew I'd never seen before.
As usual Shoal MVP against non-interactive decks.
Had 2 revelers stuck in my hand all game against the brew (needle on tarn kept me on 1 land all game) but I still won with double delver so it didn't matter.
Mulliganed around 4 times including 2 hands with 0 land.
Obviously Reveler still gains the caster a lot of advantage, but that small window to hard-answer the 3/4 prowess body for U is still important to remember. I would trade Snag for a 3/4 any day.
I was just saying that I wouldn't call the play a "blowout" unless I was missing some interaction, which I wasn't.
I played against another deck with revelers and I vapor snagged his reveler back to his hand in response to the etb ability. It was a blowout, just something to watch out for when playing against decks with bounce effects.
I get that he had to discard his reveler but didn't he still get to draw 3 cards plus take one from your hand for RR?
Also should we board in disdainful stroke for the Reveler mirror? Against UR they can play around leak by the time they cast it. They can probably even play it after a remand the same turn. Obviously if they don't draw the Reveler stroke is completely dead, but we can't let it resolve. The only other thing I can think of is essence scatter
It's slightly harder to cast, but is redirect preferable to swerve? Cards that swerve can't hit but redirect can: Cryptic (On counter, bounce mode), Kolaghan's, Dromoka's, Electrolyze, Searing Blaze, Forked Bolt (on a mage or unflipped delver)

Draw Card 1:
1. Put Card 2 on Bottom
2. Keep Card 2 on Top
Draw Card 2:
3. Put Card 1 on Bottom
4. Keep Card 1 on Top
Denial counters their entire deck minus 9 cards and snare counters goyf, flayer, and battlerage.
