I been using two Ichorclaw Myr for a couple week now, been doing pretty good.
Also Tom Ross is on Infect this weekend. I think he decided for it because he expects a lot of people to be on that new infinite life Company deck.

I have to after with you.
I love the deck, Inlove playing it but right now and I also think in the future it will be a gimmick deck. If you get the right matchups it is devastating but the meta has changed in a way that Infect does not have a chance anymore.

I get what you are saying but we are downgraded while the whole format is upgraded.
Look a Fatal Push, all the hand disruption being used and all the creatures that keep coming out and making Modern more powerful. The Eldrazi are a good example and they are going not leaving anytime soon if ever.
We simple don't have the cards and probably will not get the cards we need to keep up with it.
Yeah it was owning the place when everybody was just doing their own thing.
But you know I really think the format will never go back to that again because of fatal push, the Eldrazi and a the other creatures being pushed into Standard.
I really hate saying this but maybe Infect is really dead in Modern as a serius competitor.

This is a question for everyone that can be bothered to talk about Infect in general.
How do you guys see the future of Infect?
I love playing the deck and I would love to see it get up there were it belongs and get `respected` again. I am doing ok to pretty good with it at my local store but sometimes the guys are planning to play a GP when there is one close and I know going to play in the main tournament or even side events I think Infect will not have a very good chance.
I am thinking about getting into another deck that has more standing and more play at the higher tables but I am still doubting wich one to build. Also what I am also thinking of is just upgrading my deck to Legacy Infect but for the price of 4 Tropical Island I can make a very strong Modern deck like Burn or Dredge.
Anyway what do you guys think will need to happen for Infect to get more played and up there again?
Maybe unban Gitaxian Probe or a printing like Invigorate or some other new card?
Also what would need to change in the meta for this to happen?
I love to play Infect and I am traying to stay positive about the deck but sometimes it is hard to do.

No problem mate I like to keep the Infection going because we need to get up there were we belong.
There are some cards that I also doubt but hey if it worked for him who am I to say something about it.
Good to see you are doing good.
I switched back to UG and I am having some good results with that version.
Maybe this week I will go with the BG version again just to shake things up a bit.

What I also love about Infect is that people are always scared out of their mind to play against it. When they have a couple poison counters it gets even worse, you just see them holding their breath every game. I love it..!
So maybe in the "tiering" system it has a low standing but people are still fearing and respecting the deck, specially when you play it right.
I went 2-1 at FNM last Friday and I went 3-1 today at a local tournament.
I won the first 3 games 2-0 and I was feeling really good. Had to play Affinity in the final, won the first round pretty easily, second round was very close but he just got there but unfortunatly in the third round I had to mull to 5 and I was missing land drops and he basicly got a free win.
I noticed that the good matchups are still good matchups and nothign really changed there. The bad mathcups are still your bad matchups so nothing changed there as well. Ofcourse when they are ripping your hand apart and removing your stuff for days it will be very hard to win but it will be hard for almost all decks to win against that.
But like I said I loved playing it and I will keep the poison flowing for the time to come
I don`t know mate but if you enjoy playing go for it.
This weekend I switched back to UG Infect and I was winning left and right. Only two games that I lost out of the 7 I played were a huge misplay by me and the other one was a mull to 5 and not hitting land drops.
I was to caught up trying to win fast and looking at the whole "tiering" system and feeling bumbed out Infect has such a low standing.
But I just love playing Infect so I kept going with it and even the games that I lost I enjoyed because of the way the deck plays out. So what I am trying to say here is that you should play the deck or version you have the most fun with but I think IG Infect is still the way to go.
HolySquare,
I think that BUG can merge the best of bothe versions of "Infect" but the main problem will be the manabase as running 4x Inkmoth Nexus in a 3-color deck which aims for a low land count isn't easy and will lead to incosistency or a lot of self-inflicted damage.
I'd rather max out on Plague Stinger and bring Phyrexian Crusader from the SB against decks that would have trouble dealing with him.
The BG version is very solid but today I decided to take out the UG version and I did pretty good going 2-1. The only loss was my own mistake with two misplays that cost me the game.
Anyway I feel that the UG version plays a lot smoother mana wise. I find it a lot easier to cast everything and less stressful on you mind when you are fixing your mana and playing all your spells.
Also today Blighted Agent was a beast that won me most of my games. plague Stinger is a good sub but I played against Faeries and he would not have a chance going past all those tokens. Agent had no problem slipping past and wreaking face.

I play Pithing Needle in the side so I got that covered.
Do you bring it in against Eldrazi and what do you name with it?
Needle is just spellskite 2-3 vs Bant Eldrazi naming Eldrazi Displacer if I drop it early otherwise Drowner of Hope if that thing is already on the field
vs Eldrazi Tron naming blindly Ballista if I play it early or Ugin, the Spirit Dragon if I saw it game 1
Thanks for the reply.

Torpor Orb is too narrow (even if it worked), I'd still play Pithing needle over it to not dedicate a sideboard slot for a card that would not win me the game anyway

Traverse is very interesting and we can really use it but getting delirium is very hard for Infect I think.
I might start to build Dredge. I like to play unfair strategies and that is certainly a deck that uses one.
