This requires UU, 1 draw, and 4 life to win the game post-Doomsday. This is a pile of my own creation, and I believe it is the most mana- and draw-efficient pile possible in Legacy.
Cast Ideas Unbound, cast LED, cycle Street Wraith, in response crack LED for UUU, allow Call to the Netherworld to resolve on Street Wraith, allow Street Wraith cycling to resolve, cast Maniac, cycle Street Wraith.
I wondered if you guys can't come up with a better pile. The "draws" are minimized already at 1 (you always have to draw into the pile), so is there a 5 card pile that wins the game for either less mana, less life, or both?
For those unfamiliar with doomsday decks, I'll describe the situation like a card blind scenario. Choose any 5 legacy legal cards. They start in your library in any order you choose. Skip your draw step. You may draw as many cards from the deck and add as much mana as you want to your mana pool at any time. Win the game against an opponent with 20 life and 60 cards in his or her deck using as few 'draws,' life, and mana as possible, and do it on the first turn. To simplify things, assume the opponent never gains priority on your turn (in other words, he can't interact with you).
The fun of this is that a better pile could mean a change in the "stock" doomsday lists - solving the puzzle would have a real effect!
Some facts of magic:
-Terror is an emotion which, when experienced, results in death.
-The pox was a disease notorious for having killed one-third, rounded up, of Europe’s population. Smallpox, on the other hand, killed only a single person.
-A person riding a horse cannot be stopped by foot soldiers, large animals, walls, archers, or even catapults.
