A youtube channel with a benign hobby, then yes it can work. Mostly g-rated stuff that you would put into a professional portfolio, that intersects with an obvious hobby to show a skill is good. And presentation on video is a form of sales, it's called demonstration. You running around and making corny jokes isn't.
Or similar other "question raisers" depends on the company culture. If you're going for say a sales position, applied before without any success for an interview.
