Yeaa ive been thinking the same i finally streamlined my list and its good but i played a dino decj with that new 4 drop raptor that draws cards.. and it kind of blows venge out of the water..
4 drop 4/5 draw a card when it takes damage it was tough to play against with vengevines.

This deck has been pretty good much better than my old build
It has many options and many olay styles.
Claim/fame just shines as you can dump superions to lotleth and just bring them back for 1 mana
Burning tree helps cast superions as well as helps recur vengevines
Lotleth is able to be pumped and it doesnt matter much what you dump away as you can usually bring it back with claim, delve it away or bring it back to hand with grapple with the past.
Eldritch evolution is there to fetch for things if you need though i could probably put in a scooze or tarmo the deck doesnt necessarily need it i do feel adding asome utility creatures could give me the full potential of EE
Grapple with the past also shines immensely. It is far better than grisly salvage that i have been using and possibly would be even better with 1 or 2 dredgers like imp. I highly recommend this card guys.
I will post more combos and plays ive had with this deck later but id love any recomendations or advice. I know my list is different than whats been posted but it is very similar strategy.
The deck needs removal and disruption I have come to this conclusion because the deck needs some sort of resiliance. This deck has really proven to be the epitome of glass cannon. If you dont dump your vines or cast any hollow ones the rest of the deck just struggles to get them out. The deck absolutely needs more resiliance perhaps some terminates, abrupt decays, thoughtseizes. I believe this deck would do best if treated like an abzan or jund aggro deck which runs alot of disruption and spells (thoughtseize, kolaghans command, abrupt decay) to protect the aggro strategy and to allow the gears to turn.
That is my opinion at least. I am currently just thinking of what to do with my varient and have considered going back to my original dredge vine/varolz decklist.

I used to use flamewake pheonix its honestly not that good.
Sure you can become immense it or whatever but its just not a good card imo. It doesnt bounce vine and hinestly it works best with what youre taking out (amalgam)
I would go goblin guide as it give most value. Swift spear is best when you have alot of spells for buffing creatures and the like. It will not see its full potential in your deck. Goblin on the other hand will.

Oh i agree that it needs to be left alone. If you read my comment i specifically say that there is speculation and arguements on the matter. I never said that I want the ban, i said if any of the two were going to be banned it should be wraith and this deck at this SCG proves my point that wraith is more ban worthy however, that does not mean it should be banned it only means that if anything is going to be banned I feel that its the card closest to being ban worthy though in my opinion nothing should be banned and nothing is ban worthy.
I was merely pointing out that if this deck continues like this and perhaps is built upon by pros than wraith will get banned as its already under the radar AND the card already has all the characteristics of the cards on the ban list and of what wizards is most cautious of.
I think modern is the healthiest its ever been and should be left as such. I am very happy with modern and i also believe it should be left untouched.

Simian spirit guide can cast you a hollow one turn 1 given you cast a faithless looting on the turn too. It can also cast faithless looting which pays for 4 on any hollow one soo it still combos with that fairly well.
And im fairly certain wraith will be the card that gets banned. If we look at what makes a card bannable wraith has all the attributes.
Pay life for an effect: check
Thins out the deck: check
Increases consistency: check
Draws a card: check
Enables powerful combo: check
Sound familiar?
And domri comes in agaisnt control match ups i believe dont quote me though

So there has been alot of debate and speculation aboit what deserve a ban more street wraith or deaths shadow.. i have always believed street wraith was the reason grixis shadow has been seen to be so good.
This new hollow vine deck will be the determinant in the debate and IMO proves Street wraith is the broken card.
However, simian spirit guide exists and it could possibly be added into this deck if wraith isnt banned and maybe even sub in for it if in fact jt is.
I do see wraith getting the hammwr but this isnt the right page for this so i digress.
