Have been tinkering with Bant lately. I tested 3 ques with a new version, went 2-1 and then tested again in the practice rooms to net some data, and I found that what I set out to beat I crushed.
The highlight was beating storm 2-0 and a temur midrange deck 2-1.
Vs Storm , I turn 2 RIP G1. My opponent paused for a moment Yes we have hit the point to where this kind of warping to a Main 60 is necessary.
He creates 40 Goblin tokens. I untap cast ee for 0 and that is game. G2 I boarded in 2 Grafdigger's Cage and 2 Damping Sphere. That is 8 combo hose in the main, 4 of those findable off of stirrings. I dropped the sphere on 2 and he conceded T7.
The meta is heavily warping atm, and it's time for drastic measures. I decided to play 4 Rest in Peace in the main, alongside a set of creatures that do not care about the graveyard zone. The eldrazi are the best way to abuse this kind of hate.
Here's the list I'm working with: It is super hateful, I need to test more but I think against, Combo like Storm, KCI, and the established tier 1, Pheonix and burn to a degree this deck should have a shot. While we are still weak to other tribal decks we do have tools to work with. Beat merfolk 2-0 and that had a lot to do with EE and Displacer shutting down the team.
I am going to test this list and see how it fairs. Bant Eldrazi had the absolute best SB in modern a one point. Maybe it can comeback. This list is geared to hose Combo, and decks that abuse GY. It's weaker in midrange mirrors, but still great against GDS variants.

Modern: Decks I'm playing right now: G Mono Green Tron (34-10-3 paper record, only SCG/Regionals/PPTQ record) C Eldrazi Tron (9-5) UG Infect RW Burn
The main issue is the speed of the format. Decks are very lean so, having access to more 3 drops that impact the board (reshaper, spawner and Displacer) help to keep you from falling behind. The best starts are T2-3 TKS/Smasher. The only reason to consider playing Bant over colorless is the SB. I know this deck hasn't put up a ton of results lately and that may have to do with how poor Path to Exile is against the threats of the format. Decks get on board fast so path'ing a 1-3cmc creature helps ramp the opponent. In decks UW control whatever, ramp all you want, but in decks like Bant Eldrazi where we play a much "fairer" curve out based approach. Allowing opponents to keep up with you is rough. I'd test a lot and probably will run Bant in a few leagues to see how it fairs.
I'm not sure how Bant currently stacks up against the top tier decks. Dredge was always close but chill really speeds up their clock. Your SB looks exactly like mine except 2 Knight of Autumn.
If Grixis Deathshadow picks up, and the format goes midrange to fight back against the Izzet decks; Then Bant Eldrazi can make a comeback. I like a 3/3 Split between reshaper and spawner. I was trying Boreal Druid in my main as way to consistently play TKS or Smasher on T3. It also helps against Blood Moon since the elf produces C.

This and we are still trying to figure what the proper configuration is. Flex slots are up in the air, and the final draft of the mana base is still debatable. The SB slots are usually 2-3x RIP and Stony, +1 Worship. From there, we have a lot of work to do, as there are different variations atm.

So I tested a bunch last night (Played mtgo till 4:30 am! lol) Went 4-1 in a friendly league with Bant Eldrazi (go 3-2 get your pts back, keep playing mtgo for free).
I'm going to test this version a little more. The MD Wastes may be too much respect for Blood Moon but it helped me beat Ponza in RD4.
That league went:
1-2 Loss vs Soul sisters LOL To be fair in G3 I drew 9 lands and 4 spells. Still tilting
2-1 Win vs Abzan Midrange
2-0 Win Lantern? Whatever it was G2 T2 Stony gg
2-1 Win Vs Ponza
2-0 Win Vs Eldrazi Tron
In the practice ques I went 3-0, always warm up and want to see how it plays out. Possible to many lands, possible that Field of Ruin is worse than GQ in this deck. 3 EE in the main = gas, and 3x Natural State Ko'd my Ponza opponent. More testing to be done but promising results.

I like this plan a lot and like I said I have never lost to Tron when I was on bant. You need access to all your Displacers, it is the best draw when you have TKS on board. You blink TKS at their draw step and exile their win cons. Or you just blink their wurmcoils and blockers. Thrag can be a pain but you should be able to hold path and get it off the board. Path while good, isn't as good as the tempo you gain from playing your threats out with counter back up.
With the rise of BridgeVine, it might be the time for Bant ELdrazi to come back, have beaten that deck with our namesake. it's favorable. We have better creatures and EE, plus our SB is excellent against them.

Hey all, just wanted to chime in and say that I played at a 95 man PPTQ and took 2nd with Tron. My 1 loss in the swiss was to my favorite deck in moder, yes Bant Eldrazi. Not only did Bant Eldrazi go undefeated in the 7 round swiss, it annihilated KCI in G2-G3. While KCI took down that PPTQ, the KCI pilot said that Bant Eldrazi Thrased him and that the games weren't close. I talked to the Bant player and he said that he had some different choices in his SB, namely, Thalia's and Rec sages. I am going to message him about his deck but, I felt that the MTG gods slapped me on the wrist for playing tron. They reminded that bant is favored VS tron and I was happy to lose to my fav deck.

I think for it's best to go back to 4 Cavern of Souls. There have been at least 3 5-0 Bant Eldrazi finishes in the competitive leagues lately. My own league went 3-2 and another was 4-1. Both of those lists were experimental, not sure if Boreal Druid is good or just meh. I've seen some lists resemble the traditional Bant lists, with flex slots being the full playset of Matter Reshaper's, and 0 EE in the main. With how Dynamic modern is atm, we need to be on top of current trends. I was helping a friend last night in a modern league (he was on burn) and 3-4 of those matches were against Pyromancer. That leads to want EE and Boreal Druids. Good luck to all those playing this weekend.

Happy to report that my first friendly league with this version was a 4-1 record. While I put the training wheels on (friendly league lol) I needed to make sure the deck had legs before burning play points in the competitive league. Results:
2-0 Win vs Eldtrich Evo Combo
2-0 Vs Hardened Scales Affinity
2-0 Vs Boogles
0-2 Loss to Jeskai Control (bad Mulligans and some unlucky draws, maybe this match up got worse but G2 I couldn't find a U for my triple Negate's )
2-0 Vs Win Vs Blue Moon, don't ask how but my Boreal Druid's and Eldrazi Skyspawner tokens let me keep casting Smashers.
This is very promising. This is still a first draft, but I'm very happy to see the deck perform the way it did. In the practice modes I went 4-2. So, overall am 8-3. Not bad.
As for my counter suite, I'm hot and cold on Negate, when it's good, it's really good. when I don't have blue mana, it's bad and sets me back. One thing I like about having Negate is that I can put dorks out and develop my mana T1-2 and hold up permission. That's something I wasn't able to do before. The added benefit of Stubborn being live after countering a relevant spell, even if I'm casting it off curves threw a lot of players off.

5-0 Bant Eldrazi list from the Competitive league:
KILLERFISH (5-0)
This is more of the classic list, but uses 2 Talisman to beat Blood Moon. Funny how those of us that are still working on this deck are finding different angle to dampen the effects of this card. I have never been a fan of Matter Reshaper in this deck but it does give the deck more resiliency to removal.
Of Note: No Grafdigger's Cage and the extra Engineered Explosives a lot of lists have in the Sb has been cut. Dampening Sphere is a great answer to tron, Storm, and combo in general. I ran 2 last night, swapping out the cages at the last minute.
Hey all, been lurking a while but I've been putting in some work on this deck. While we have lost access to some favorable match ups, I think we can retool the deck and update it. The older lists are not working and they haven't worked for me on mtgo for quite some time. That said, I took a page from the GR eldrazi deck and added +3 Boreal Druid to the list. After goint 3-0 in the practice modes, I quickly started to notice that T3 was consistently giving a TKS/Smasher/ or Drowner. It felt like the deck was accelerating faster and pressuring opponents better. The current meta sees 2 decks that Bant Eldrazi should be poised to beat:
KCI and Tron. TKS + Displacer can lock out both of decks and the SB is very good against both decks.
The Mardu Pyromancer match up is close, but I,m starting to lean towards it being even. Boreal Druid helps a lot against Bloodmoon. It also dodges our own EE on 2. I have been running 2 EE in the main and it's felt fine, I can see a world where 3x EE is correct but for now this is my starting point:
The Iffy cards in my SB are the number of Negate's and Grafdigger's Cage. It seems like Rip is the better card and Storm is currently on a massive down swing (Cage does stop Mardu's efficiency, and can be found off of Stirrings so I think it's fine for now). I feel like Disdainful Stroke is good against Tron but I'd rather have a hard counter for Blood Moon in G2-3.
Worship, I mean, I don't even know if this is good enough anymore. The last top 8 while diverse didn't have a ton of combat involved (finals was a Outlier), but is good in the meta? Can this be something better? I'm not sure. There decks that stone cold die to this, but of the ones I can think of, they aren't fully represented in the meta. Maybe it's just a silver bullet. Not sure.
This is my starting point, so, hopefully Bant Eldrazi can gain some traction.
Started team testing this week, on the docket were matches against Grixis Deathshadow and UW Control (w/ Azcanta).
Results:
Grixis DS, Favorbale, VERY favorable. We knew this, only I didn't realize how good the match up actually was until I played it about a dozen times pre SB and then 20 SB.
UW Control, aye ya yai, this is rough. If we were to try and improve against this deck after SB I assume it would need to be something with Cast Triggers. Cards like World Breaker and even the big daddy himself Utamog came to mind but that deviates from what our deck wants to do. Maybe a card like Eternal Scourge is worth testing, but I just feel like we need to curve out and disrupt via TKS.
More to follow.

Yeah, I played tight, and deck felt great. I know our deck isn't played as much anymore but players know me as the lone remaining Bant Eldrazi pilot. They also don't ever like actually playing against the deck.
R1) Vs Counter Company 2-1 Win
Yeah, see this is why I like our version over Eldrazi Tron. I had triple Noble out and a TKS and smasher. My 8/8 Smasher forced him to trade off his board and EE punished him for playing multiple 2cmc dorks. G2 he got it via combo kill before I could set up. G3, I applied pressure and landed double Grafdigger's Cage. Stubborn Denial countered his company on curve and he fell way behind. I had the right amount of pressure and hate. Sure they have it sometimes but so do we.
R2) Vs Dredge 2-0 Win
I played smart game 1, got a T3 smasher with Skypawner Beats on line before he could a mass a massive board state. Path's took care of blockers and my drowners came down to seal up combat. G2, he mulls to 5 and I do what our deck is designed to do, T2 TKS into Displacer holding up path and stubborn.
R3) Vs Elves 1-2 Loss
Look the fact that I took 1 match off this pilot means a lot. This match up is terrible and trying to shore this up makes us lose points elsehwere. I'm fine with the deck having rough match ups. EE shined and G2 came down to me blowing up his 1cmc dudes and smashing in hard. Rawr
R4) Vs Tron 2-0 Win
Yeah, I double TKS him G1. K, G2 was a bit closer but had the countermagic up and beat Karn and Ugin on board (yes I beat both on board at the same time). Don't get flustered against them, they will resolve something, and you will just path it. My opponent landed Ulamog, went to exile my 2 displacers and I blinked them
Decks still great, the tools are there for it to be successful. Sure it has bad match ups but it's modern, the Sb is stupidly good. I'm sold on playing this at the GP.
With the meta shifting towards Jeskai Control I think Bant Eldrazi is in a great place! This is the kind of control we are 100% favored against. DS is still a good match up, Dredge is fine (out Sb hits them due to how anti Storm we can be), Counter's Company can be rough but we have tools here. Affinity is favorable and I think the Humans Match is not bad, EE seems great here. I'm in the camp that burn is favorable as long as you MD Matter Reshaper. I think we can get under Eldrazi Tron and are the better of the Eldrazi Variants in the Mirror. With Scapeshift being pushed down and decks like Jund and Abzan coming back, that means combat/ board presence is relevant again. That's where our deck is the strongest.
No doubt, storm is not a good match up. EE is okay there, Path is well...it has to hit 1 of their enablers. After SB you get to bring in speed bumps, RIP and Cage. You can bring in permission, but in all honesty, I think the best solution is to just pressure them, land a RIP/ Cage and hope it sticks. EE on 2 is good here.
Chalice could help, but it comes at the cost of shutting down your own 1cmc plays.
I think Bant Eldrazi is the best EE deck, (not that it's trying to be, it just so happens that it is) it skips from 1-3cmc consistently. I did play test against U/G Merfolk and EE was still huge. I landed a Worship and my opponent scooped them up. G1 is still hard, but G2-G3 are much closer. With the meta shifting it may be correct to drop Matter Reshaper again in Lieu of 4 skyspawners to enable the T3 TKS/ Smasher more.
