I meant it hasn't rotated out of standard yet. And people are complaining about cards that aren't playable in modern with this set. If it's playable in standard it's playable in modern
Overall vintage and legacy are 100% casual play. When's the last time your local game store offered an fnm with either of those formats? Probably never. What I'm actually curious about is to why people are crying over paying $10 a pack for premium quality cards in general and they are upset when they open that damn turtle everyone is complaining about. I see a great use for it and plan on actually playing it. What I don't see a use for is people complaining about there not being many if any at all modern playables. First of all wizards came out and said this will be vintage and legacy cards with some commander stuff thrown in. Second of all the entire set hasn't been spoiled yet. There's still almost 200 cards left in the set. There's bound to be a couple cards that are modern playable. An example that I've seen so far is shaman of the pack. That's actually standard playable right now because origins hasn't rotated out to modern yet. If everyone recalls it was printed as an uncommon there as well. I pulled 3 between the box and 2 fat packs I bought and play it in my modern elves. It's very modern playable and elves have some fun mechanics to play with. That card is great if you're playing them. So people complaining about these cards not being modern playable is laughable to me.
I don't understand why everyone is crying about why there won't be many of any at all good modern cards. It's called eternal masters. Not modern masters. Sorry modern players but you'll have to wait til next year to see some good modern playables. Or just wait until origins rotates out of standard late this year. I started playing around tempest block and got out of it around planechase. These are the cards I learned with and I'm excited to see them back without the unnecessary price tag. This is going to make vintage and legacy much more affordable overall. All I have to say is U/W control like a mf. And I have some ideas for mono red. Some additions to my U/R aggro vintage deck and my currently standard mono white humans. Vintage legacy and edh will be the way to go this summer. Keep in mind there's a new ftv coming out and a new conspiracy coming out. Lots of draft/cube/vintage play will be coming your way. Just accept it and if you don't want to spend $10 a pack just get the singles you do want and call it a day. If they don't reprint damnation, oh well. I guess if you want it, a) good luck finding someone willing to part with that good of a card or b) buy the single off eBay. Either way, if it's reprinted or not it will still carry a pretty ugly price tag for us consumers. I wasn't willing to spend $35 on dack fayden so I bought a couple conspiracy packs. Didn't pull him. Disappointing, yes. Did I cry because I didn't pull the $350 foil? No. I spent $12. I didn't expect much. Some of you guys are ridiculous.
