All the top-32 of GP Los Angeles are solid decks. GP Charlotte... I'm lost. Especially Ad-Nauseam. How often does it win before turn 4? And where does it get its consistency from? You need multiple pieces, it's like a collected company deck without the beatdown plan. This is one deck I have no clue how it works.
It's also completely unbeatable if they have Angel's Grace and Boseiju, Who Shelters All. I lost to Ad Nauseam at SCG Regionals, dying game 3 with Dispel, Remand, Remand in hand. Nothing you can do against Split Second and an uncounterable sorcery. Once they draw their deck, they have 4x Pact of Negation. Granted it also can fall apart completely if it doesn't draw well, it can be frustrating to go up against in a match that matters in a large event.
side note: am forever bookmarking this game for whenever someone says "AV is useless past t1" or "your gunna die before it comes off suspend anyways"
He bricked his first AV and got extremely lucky by milling the Reality Smasher while Pascal drew just lands for several turns. It looked good for sure, but he also would have just died to any top decked creature.
you will be receiving many a copy pasta link to this game, dont worry
Feel free; I watched it live. He lost hard, and even in the one game that he did win, he was a breath away from losing for several turns. The matchup played out exactly the same way as I imagined it would have.
So he didn't die with AV on suspend, but he might as well have. Goes to 1 and flounders, even with double Cryptic Command, then promptly loses. That's about how I remember the Eldrazi matchup, with or without AV.

That first Eldrazi/Grixis game brought back many, many bad memories... I am still shocked that the deck got treated so well by the B&R announcement, despite being the most broken and oppressive deck in the format's history.
Is it my imagination or is Affinity doing better than expected with Jeskai's rise?
Dunno if I would call three Day 2 copies "on the rise" (and only 1 at SCG CHAR). Plus, with Thopter/Sword completely non-existent, people probably cut back their over-zealous artifact hate from the past few weeks. It was gross watching Blue Tron beat up on Affinity with Chalice tho.
Was going to head up, but plans fell through with friends a while back. Combine that with not having a deck I feel super solid on anyway and it was a hard sell to convince myself to spend $$$.$$ for gas, hotel, entry, amenities, etc, when I'd be going up solo. Really looking forward to watching the stream though, and following Charlotte as well. Weird that CFB would get priority for coverage since SCG coverage is better than everyone else by a considerable margin, including Wizards themselves.
