Jesus Christ, I took a look at the top 32, it's really diverse, but blue is really, REALLY, REALLLLLLY bad.
Like, I don't know how you guys can keep arguing that blue isn't garbage, these pas 3 months clearly show it's bad. Modern used to have multiple tier 1 blue decks (albeit twin) not long ago, it's now a bunch of tier 2 and tier 3 decks.
Some of this, "hur dur, you blue players think you're entitled to a tier 1 deck"
Well, what if there was no aggro decks in tier 1? Or a reactive deck in tier 1? Or no combo deck?
This is absolutely ridiculous, unban at minimum preordain tomorrow, but better yet unban SFM with it.
If you're too scared to unban those two cards WOTC needs to seriously consider unbanning Twin or straight up stating in its ban announcement they have no intention to help blue control decks.
Single "UW Control" deck in all the top 32 to represent blue reactive decks, and even that's down at #29.
lol reactive blue is so bad. I doubt Wizards unbans something to help it out tomorrow, but will be pleasantly surprised if I am wrong. I do think we can push Wizards for an April unban though. The state of reactive blue is just so unambiguously worse than it was a year ago. I'd go so far as to say it's objectively one of the worst places you can be in competitive Modern right now.
According to about half the regulars here, you're just not good with blue and just need to get better, it's super duper skill intensive is all.
I would love seeing the SFM/Preordain ban, we'd be seeing Mardu, Death and Taxes, maybe Eldrazi and Taxes, Esper, Abzan, and Jeskai get some serious boosts.
I'd have to shell out for the 4th copy of a foil SFM and foil swords---but brah, my Abzan deck.
Alright this is getting ridiculous. I mean, a werewolf deck should be able to make day two. Something is clearly wrong when the format can't support a werewolf deck...
Hate to say it, but blue players whining and complaining, that's what you sound like. The format is diverse. This conversation needs to die.
Remember when some players had fits about Dredge and Infect eating bans and now decks like Ad Naseum, Living End and Skred Red can perform well in tournaments? Interesting
Tron is not an interactive deck. It searches up land and then slams down a demoralizing card that modern decks are ill equipped to handle.
"My deck plays 4 fatal pushes! It's interactive!"
Tron is less of a interactive card and more of a, "**** you, I won unless you combo me out, bro".
GR Tron used to run the 2x Pryros, 3x O-Stones and people would claim that was interactive. It was more of a cling to dear life and slam down a win con deck
Almost no one likes to play against Tron because most of the games are uninteresting and lack serious interaction. I would say no one likes playing Tron, but that'd be a lie since it revolves into tier 1 and tier 2.
The only time I ever see Tron not bore me to death on camera is when it faces a Titan deck.
Ugins not a interactive card, it's a "Do you have a combo finisher or planeswalker removal? No? **** you, I win.
Tons mainly interactive in that it's pretty much won if it's interacted with you, let's not kid ourselves, you're clinging to a literal definition, but there's a reason it bores everyone to play against and watch
Jund and Junk are looking to 1 for 1 you and finish up with a Goyf. Shadow just happens to run discard and some removal, Shadow isn't looking to 1 for 1 you, it's discarding and slamming an unfair cost vanilla beater early. Hence 8 to 9 discard.
Bull*****, I've been playing jund and junk almost exclusively for 2 years, Goyf does not become a 6/7 typically by turn 3 on a consistent basis. Goyf rarely hits 6/7 in those decks at all.
I'm surprised to hear you guys say shadow is fair, Sam black and Gerry Thompson were calling the deck unfair and proactive
Thinking on this, what I'd really like to see are more fair decks in modern. Jund is basically the only fair deck outside of possibly merfolk (pending definition of fair) and trying to create a control deck in modern given the sheer power level the format holds may require designing something that likely will be game breaking down the road. People are saying modern needs stronger answers, but what I'm afraid of is wizards printing an answer that is functionally the tarmogoyf of answers. It's okay at first, but as more sets and mechanics get released it becomes stronger and stronger, until it literally is the answer that every deck, let alone control decks, ends up playing if it's in the right colors. What form that answer takes can be anybody's guess, but it would have to be a scalable mechanic that gets underestimated.
Jund is the only fair deck? The Death's Shadow deck is ultimately pretty fair (its creatures get pretty big but it's just playing hand disruption and removal until it can stick a threat), Grixis Control and Delver are pretty similar and combine to about 4.3% or so according to MTGGoldfish (which is more than Jund). Abzan is similar to Jund but different in several ways and is very popular atm.
lol, no, bud, you're confusing fair with interactive.
Shadow can play an 8/8 for 1 mana, or a 7/8 Goyf for 2 mana, that's massively unfair. The deck is very interactive, but it's cheating out fat, huge threats for cheap, unfair mana. The deck is good because it's doing incredibly unfair things
Oh well, was hoping to see a preordain/SFM unban, but that's not looking like the case.
A bunch of scrubs don't just show up to all these tournaments and just then consistently fail to make top 32 on a daily basis since July.

Do you know how ridiculous this argument is?
I'm a little shocked how well it's been doing, I always saw this as a tier 2 barely clinging to that.
It's good, but it hasn't yelled, "ban this deck!" to me despite it's results

Again,
Interactive =/= Fair
