Maybe. It's nice to have the 6cc mode in case you flood out, even though the card's playable on 2 mana. Kinda like the graveyard activation on Earthshaker Khenra.
I agree with that, but building a deck around it seems bad. I just wouldn't call it the play of the decade
Are you talking about overloading and then Armageddon? Because if you are casting this for 6 and playing Armageddon in the same deck, your doing it wrong
Early on, this doesn't compare favorably alongside Declaration in Stone, but overall will likely be much better. I'm going to try that swap and hope it goes well.
Maybe the real decision comes down to which decks need access to removal. My white control decks seem to have a plethora of it, whereas my lower to the ground decks don't really want to be playing a turn 3 oblivion ring if they can help it. This card feels really good in control decks where you can overload it for a 1 sided wrath. playing this early in in an aggressive deck feels like it will help your opponent stabilize a little more since it can help them get the mana out to cast what they have in hand. The clue token in declaration in stone isn't that big of a deal in against aggressive decks since the are probably cashing in after you already ran out of gas and will probably lose anyway, or they have no answer and are digging for anything and you are already in a winning position.
