Unfortunate nonbo with Siren's Ruse. The main reason I'd want a creature to be a Pirate right now is to make Siren's Ruse a cantrip. But sadly, Ruse'ing this causes it to flush away all its built up counters, including the one it gets for you casting Siren's Ruse. It's just the nature of the creature is that you want it to stick around and not be blinked, when Siren's Ruse works best with creatures that benefit from being blinked.
