Loved seeing it when it came out in Exodus. I remember them being useful in WW back then. How do they stand up to WW now? Is there a place for them? Or do they just get tossed aside in favor of other single mana casts?
Favorite Cards: Serendib Efreet, Mana Drain, Library of Alexandria, Demonic Tutor, Undermine, Mox Sapphire.
Up to 4 Infraction Warnings. The latest was from CorpT. I mentioned that a decklist looks good, and apart from a couple cards that'll be out of Standard in October, the list was solid. I got a warning for THAT! I mean, people have drug references in their signatures, yet I get a week long ban for mentioning SoM in October? Yeah, ok.
While it can be a very powerful one drop at times it is a little too situational at best for my tastes. Plus with so many other more powerful one drops I don't see a lot of decks running it. With cards like Steppe Lynx, Kor Duelist, Elite Vanguard, and the list goes on and on. Really if you need the life gain then I would reccomend just playing Basilisk Collar or Behemoth Sledge both of which give any creature lifelink if needed.

Yes, the only thing it's really useful against is RDW, which gets smashed hard in the face by Firewalker.
Also, against RDW, you won't need it as a 1-drop, you'll need a Steppe Lynx to either start beating or take a Bolt.
You'll need it as a 2-drop, to start blocking, attacking and/or gaining life.

Not that I use it MB or SB, but it is also pretty awesome in the mirror, against mono-green, any deck that produces a ton of creatures.
It's a solid 1-drop, it buys time against super aggro decks (decks more aggro than us, which isn't all that many) without totally giving up board presence like with a Dragon's Claw or whatever. It's somewhat the same idea behind a lot of white's creatures like their pro-bears -- built in hosing ability into a creature, so you can counter a deck while beating them down.
Soul Warden is, I would imagine, a fantastic 1-drop in a mid-range WW deck that produces TONS of creatures, obviously the token builds. It would be very lackluster in a build that is heavy into the equipment that throws few creatures, and it would be decent in a "traditional" 16-18 land non-token swarm deck.
2 Honor of the Pure brings creatures a LOT closer to each other comparatively -- for instance, an Elite Vanguard would be 4/3, this 3/3 with life gain, at which point Soul Warden is IMO far superior.
I has amazing synergy with token producing decks. If you run Conquerors pledge or Emeria Angel, I would run them any day before Elite Vanguard. I've gotten up to 60 health just by 1 soul warden. People often think it isn't worth killing or wasting a spell on.
With Jund, it also turns a Thrinax into gain 4 total life gain. (If you kill it.)
I run 2x soul warden in my build. Every time I try taking them out, I regret it. Often when WW plays other aggressive decks, like jund and vamps, the life totals will be very close. Soul warden helps win the race every time, and usually nets 5-10 life a match. It can be fetched with Ranger in a pinch. Against control, it is an easy board out.

I hate when people change their avatar's. That's how I identify most people, not by names.
