Well, as a 2nd term Junior the college process has taken it's first serious swing at me, so I'm compiling a list of shexah schools. Given my scores and location, UConn is likely going to be my (very nice) safety school, but I'm just wondering:
What schools do you all know to have strong Psych departments? (let's assume, for the moment, $$$ is no issue)
So far my list reads:
U Chicago (I know, but I just love how the place sounds)
Bates College
Colgate University
I'm also a college student and the greatest problem I have is location.A University is the best way to go in terms of its ability to fund and teach the program but some Comm. Colleges are diamonds in the rough with all the funding and teaching focus on one subject. If your best situlation is for UConn then go for it.
Location hit me the hardest cause I'm from California going to Las Vegas for college. The Heat in the summer reaches 117 degrees and in the winter it reaches high 50s.In California its almost 70 all year round,Tempature made me a hermit.
If money is no problem then you wouldn't be working and going to school at the same time but thats not real world thinking. In this new location, jobs have to be present to find suitable work or transfer over from ur current job.

Huh, that's interesting. Never knew there were colleges in Las Vegas. Since you're from California, does this mean you have to pay out-of-state tuition then?
I did have to pay for out of state tuition til my 6 first monthes of living here was over.
I would have to say their is only 3 big colleges in Las Vegas and about a ton of special colleges as in for Cooking,ITT tech,Medical and a bunch of others.UNLV is the biggest college in Nevada but placed rite in gang central and is reported to have 1 car stolen every 5 minutes.CCSN or Comm College of Southern Nevada is 2nd biggest with 3 main colleges but has 6 locations all over Las Vegas.3rd biggest is the new Nevada State College is the rich location of town.
