I play at an LGS that still holds Brawl in high regards and people play it regularly. We have a slight variance, in that we mostly play 1v1 with a 15-card sideboard.
One of the players runs a Golos Brawl deck that is giving my two Brawl decks (Ral, Storm Conduit Tempo and Teysa Karlov Aristocrats) alot of trouble. His deck consists of kill spells, counterapells, high value Planeswalkers, Mana dorks and Field of the Dead. The Field of the Dead always supplies him with enough ground protection that he can apply pressure without investing too much into board state, and if his hand is already stacked or almost empty he will activate Golos repeatedly.
Is there anyone who can give me some insight on how to deal with this type of deck? I can't even seem to get close when the life totals are 25.
I used to have a good win rate VS it with my heliod and niv parrun decks but it find it hard to beat with Kiora. It's hard for our three decks bc there are not many ways to deal with pw and also our commanders don't have a high board impact, they are more for a long game.
It also sucks that golos is just as powerful as a board pressence as he is if you kill him. You have to play frogify or something just to keep him dead but then that means you can't attack which sucks. He also gets all the best spells which you can say the same for niv but at least he has mana restrictions.
Unfortunately, Golos is not that fast. Try building different commanders; it will surprise you which ones are good in all situations. Some suggestions to beat Golos: Ghalta, Primal Hunger, Thalia and the Gitrog Monster, Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy.

An enigma as vexing as life itself.
